DESCRIPTION: Ocean Pearl is a charming two-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath home with a private pool. The great room is surrounded by French doors, with invisible screens, which open onto a wrap-around deck and include beautiful views overlooking Great Cruz Bay Harbor. A spiral staircase takes you down to the lower bedroom level, where there are two bedrooms, each with a king bed, a/c, and an en-suite bath with a tiled shower. Both bedrooms have screened sliders, which open onto the private 700 square foot pool deck and 20 x 12 foot pool.
This two-level design, with its interior access bedrooms, is a perfect layout for families traveling with children, couples looking for similar-sized bedrooms, and honeymooners looking to start their new life together. If you are a larger group traveling together but want your own home, Aqua Gem is the sister villa to Ocean Pearl. You can walk between the two homes, and if rented together, they can easily accommodate a party of 8.
LOCATION: Ocean Pearl was completed in 1999, and like its nearly identical next-door neighbor, Aqua Gem, it is located just above the Westin Resort, overlooking the turquoise waters of Great Cruz Bay. The house faces south-southwest and gets poolside sun all day. The picturesque view includes the islands of Little and Great St James and the south end of St. Thomas, the sparkling waters of Great Cruz Bay and the Caribbean, and views of fiery sunsets and distant island lights at night. This is a very convenient location, less than a five-minute drive to the restaurants, beach bars, groceries, and shopping in the delightful town of Cruz Bay.
LIVING & DINING: Three sets of fully screened French doors open onto the upper deck, which wraps around the south and west sides of the living areas. The fully tiled interior living spaces are cooled by ceiling fans and ocean breezes, furnished with a rattan and wicker couch, loveseat, and chair, alongside Caribbean artwork and accessories. Amenities include a 32-inch flat-screen cable TV and wireless internet.
Guests can choose to dine indoors or on the upper deck at a wicker and glass table that seats 4-6, or on the pool deck at a table that accommodates 4.
KITCHEN: The kitchen is well-equipped with a four-burner gas stove and oven located on an island bar/counter, a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, blender, drip coffee maker, and a gas grill on the deck.
BEDROOMS: The two lower-level bedrooms, accessed by a spiral staircase or exterior stairs, are cooled by ceiling fans, the tradewinds, and efficient split-level air conditioning. Both master bedrooms are equally sized, featuring king beds, tiled floors, chests of drawers, lamps, end tables, and fully tiled baths with showers. Imagine waking up late and stepping out of bed directly into your pool, just a few feet away, accessible through screened sliding glass doors.
