DESCRIPTION: Belle Mer is a three-bedroom, three-bath home with a private pool located on the water in Klein Bay. From the moment you walk through the custom-made mahogany doorway, you will feel the welcoming ambiance of the private courtyard, lush landscaping, and those 'oh so' beautiful views of turquoise blue seas.

The home was designed with two buildings. The main house is to the right and includes the great room with its kitchen, living, and dining areas, plus two air-conditioned bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. To the left of the main house is a separate bedroom cabana, which includes the third air-conditioned bedroom and ensuite bath. All are beautifully designed with comfort in mind.

For us, what truly captured our hearts was the covered veranda located off the great room. This covered outdoor living area offers comfort with its chaise lounges, overstuffed chairs, and the dining outside table. Here, you will gaze out to your front yard, colorful flowers, and listen to the sounds of the surf as it laps along the shoreline.

The appeal continues with the veranda. The home includes a private sun deck, lounge chairs, and a refreshing pool to cool off on a warm Caribbean day. If you prefer the ocean, you will follow the walkway through the gate to the pebble beach of Klein Bay. This calm cove is perfect for snorkeling and swimming.

If you are a family, couple, and/or friend traveling together and looking for a fun yet serene location, make your reservations now, and you, too, will be able to enjoy Belle Mer.

LOCATION: Belle Mer is one of four homes located on Klein Bay's pebble/sand beach. Klein Bay is a small, well-protected cove that is part of Rendezvous Bay on St. John's sunny south shore. There are no hotels, condos, or B&Bs in Klein Bay; only a few luxury vacation villas exist. The dead-end road that leads to Belle Mer ends three houses down, so there is very little vehicular traffic here, which creates an exceptionally peaceful and quiet neighborhood. The only noise you'll hear with regularity is the sweet sound of the surf gently breaking in your front yard and the soft trade winds blowing through the trees.

Belle Mer is unquestionably a beautiful villa in an exquisite setting. Although Belle Mer has one villa to the left of the home, the lush tropical vegetation and a well-designed landscaping plan create a setting with very good visual privacy. Belle Mer faces south, so it is also a sun worshipper's villa and the pool and decks are bathed in sunshine from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The pebble/sand beach at Klein Bay is more pebbles than sand, although this mixture differs from year to year, depending mainly on what the fall storms deposit or wash away. The shoreline is protected from heavy surf and strong winds by Ditleff Point, which is a peninsula that curves into the Caribbean and shelters Klein Bay. Almost every day, the small surf and crystal clear waters provide good swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available by the day or week in Cruz Bay, and they'll usually be delivered to your villa if rented for the week.

LIVING & DINING: The great room has an open floor plan that includes your living, kitchen, and dining areas. It is perfect for spending time together to create unforgettable memories. The living area is comfortably furnished and includes a flat-screen smart TV for streaming from your personal accounts. For those who need to do some work, and we hope it is not too much, there is a small office area adjacent to the living room.

The interior dining table seats 4-6 people, and there is an outside dining table on the covered veranda that also seats 4-6 people.

KITCHEN: The well-equipped kitchen is located adjacent to the dining room and includes a breakfast bar with bar stools, a wonderful gathering spot for morning coffee and planning your day. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, a gas stove, a dishwasher, a refrigerator/freezer, and a drip coffee maker. There is also a BBQ gas grill on the veranda.

BEDROOMS: The main house has two air-conditioned bedrooms, each is well-appointed. The bedroom to the right of the great room includes a 4-poster queen bed and ensuite bath with a garden shower. An interior staircase from the great room takes you to the upper-level 2nd bedroom, which includes 2 twin beds that can be converted to a king and an ensuite bath with a tiled shower, a TV with a DVD player, and a private balcony looking out over beautiful views of Klein Bay. The air-conditioned third bedroom is located in its own bedroom cabana across the tiled courtyard to the left of the main house. This bedroom includes a king bed and a private bath with a garden shower.

Private, beautiful ocean location with outdoor living

"My husband and I visited with our 17 year old daughter and her friend. We didn’t use the pool bedroom except the girls used the outdoor shower. Outdoor space is amazing and quiet at your private beachfront property. Large covered porch to sip ur coffee in AM or chill in evenings. If you prefer sun, use the lounge chairs by pool. Nice to have splash pool but also be able to dive into the warm Caribbean waters. The beach, as described, is a pebble beach so bring your water shoes. Beach chairs, towels, ice packs is a plus for beach excursion. My favorite was the outdoor shower which has a tiny view to ocean. Property manager addressed all questions and met us off the ferry. We used house keeping services mid-week which worked out well and rented jeep through Caribbean Villas.

"In the 20 years I’ve been coming to STJ on and off, we have never rented a villa that was beachfront. Belle Mer is amazing! The sound of the waves on the rock beach is so relaxing to listen to while sitting on the covered back porch. All of the bedrooms have AC which is a plus. Kitchen has everything you may need. The driveway might be a little tricky for 2 vehicles but we only had 1 Jeep so we were able to get it turned around no problem. Location is quiet and convenient. We will definitely recommend Belle Mer in the future!

"We absolutely LOVED Bel Mer in Klein Bay. It was our first trip to St John & the Virgin Islands and I was so nervous about finding the right place for us. This was it! It was paradise. The home was decorated perfectly and all the amenities we needed. The outdoor shower was my favorite, next to hearing the beach waves all day and night. The front porch is where we spent our time, enjoying the beauty of St John and the bay. The pool was perfect for cooling off and with swim shoes, you can walk right out into the ocean to get some of the best snorkeling on the island. Matthew was our greeter and was incredibly nice, helpful, and patient. He guided us right to the one and provided lots of helpful tips. For newbies like us- definitely rent a jeep like we did (thankful for reviews) and explore all the different beaches, ruins, restaurants, and shops. We will be back and definitely coming back to Bel Mer which is the perfect blend of views and ocean access.

"The booking process was excellent. All the team members at the stateside location and on-site in St John were great to deal with. I had a few issues that were able to be resolved rather quickly. The landscaping is beautiful. The location and having a beach front property in St John is rare and a real treat. The place has everything you need to have a great vacation. We really enjoyed our time cooking and hanging out at night on the large wrap around deck. Highly recommend this property with a few small upgrades for guests that require a little more convenience. Thank you for sharing your home with our family we had a great trip.

"Absolutely LOVED Belle Mer! We absolutely love Belle Mer and will stay there again. The house is located on the best beach for snorkeling and about 10 minutes to town. "The house is in a great location on Klein Bay with direct access to the water. We found some of the best snorkeling of our trip right in the front yard. The house is well-appointed and served our group of five very well. It has wifi, a washer and dryer, Weber grill, and a kitchen with all basic appliances. The house has a great covered porch with amazing views, which is where we spent most of our time.. The rooms all had air conditioning and the beds were comfortable.
