Ilios is a beautiful 3 bedroom 3 ½ bath home with a private pool. This lovely home is a modern interpretation of a Greek Villa, combining the grace, beauty, and colors of classic Mediterranean architecture. With the newly installed air-conditioning in the main house, as well as having solar panels with a battery back-up system in place; a guest is assured they will have all the comforts and conveniences of a present day tropical home.

The centerpiece of Ilios is the open courtyard, sundeck and pool which are surrounded on 3 sides by separate pavilions. The pavilion on the right of the courtyard includes the great room, with the kitchen, living and dining areas. The pavilion on the left houses one of the guest bedrooms, and straight ahead is the main bedroom pavilion. The third bedroom is accessed by an exterior staircase and is on the upper level of the main house pavilion. All three bedrooms are tastefully decorated and include a/c, satellite flat screen TV’s and private en-suite bathrooms.

The sundeck includes plenty of lounge chairs and with the addition of two 9 ft Tuuci marine grade European umbrellas, you can relax in the sun and work on your golden tan or you can put up the umbrellas and relax by the pool in the shade; the choice is yours.

Distance To Town: Cruz Bay (town) is about 5-7 minute drive.

Living And Dining: The main house contains the handsome great room (with a/c) that includes the living/dining and kitchen areas. With its rustic stone arches and light filled soaring ceilings, white walls, Mediterranean blue trim and restful views, the atmosphere in the great room is relaxing, and very romantic – a perfect honeymoon hideaway or lovers escape. If you wish to supplement the background sound of surf breaking on Hart Bay Beach, a satellite flat screen TV, stereo and high speed internet access are provided.

The newly added a/c in the great room is a wonderful addition! You now have the choice of enjoying the ‘open air’ feel with the tropical breezes, or for those that enjoy a/c, you can close the doors and relax in air-conditioned comfort! And for extra added peace of mind, Ilios now has a solar powered battery back up for the unexpected times when the power goes down on the island.

There is dining in the courtyard under the hibiscus arbor at a table for 6, or dining in the great room at an antique table for 6. There’s a gas barbecue grill in the courtyard, and a house phone and washer/dryer are included.

Kitchen: The kitchen is completely equipped and opens wide to the courtyard and the living area. Included are a gas 4 burner stove and oven, refrigerator/freezer and a dishwasher, microwave, blender and coffee maker as well as cookware and dinnerware.

Bedroom Details: The main bedroom (king) overlooks the hibiscus garden and the pool. This charming private retreat includes a flat screen satellite TV, a private bath with an open air garden shower and a private deck. The spacious patio level bedroom (king) also has a flat screen satellite TV, private bath, open air garden shower and views of the courtyard garden and the Caribbean. The 2nd floor guest bedroom (queen) also has a flat screen satellite TV and an attached private bath. A tiled deck has been added to this bedroom, which is a delightful place for morning coffee while watching the sun rise, or a glass of wine while watching cruise ships en route to other Caribbean destinations.

Ilios is one of a few favored homes that occupy the south-southwest facing shore of Hart Bay. The villa is the next to the last home on a dead-end road, so there is almost no traffic in this peaceful corner of paradise. Your views look south and you will enjoy gazing out at the multi-colored turquoise waters of Hart Bay and the Caribbean.

This picturesque, semi-secluded cove is only about a 7-8 minute drive on paved road from the quaint Caribbean town of Cruz Bay. Here you will enjoy frequenting the many fine restaurants, beach bars, shops and grocery stores. If you would like some recommendations, please ask our knowledgeable sales staff, as they know the island well.

INTERNET SERVICE: The internet service is subject to frequent interruption. We cannot guarantee internet quality or speed. Renters might find it convenient to travel with a cellular carrier MiFi – a couple of examples are AT&T and Virgin Mobile. There will be no refunds due to the internet not working.

PHONE SERVICE/CELL PHONES: Local phone service is interrupted regularly and in spite of our efforts to reinstate service it can sometimes take weeks. AT&T is the only cell service we find operates efficiently on the island. If you do not have AT&T we strongly suggest you bring a pay as you go AT&T cell phone with you as we do not provide cell phones should the local phone service be interrupted.

POOL FLOATS: Pool floats are not guaranteed with your villa rental. If you want access to them, please bring them with you.

Dec. 2023 – We loved Ilios Villa and everyone at Carribean Villa’s were awesome. Nice relaxing space and separation of sleeping quarters.

June 2023- We had so much fun. St. John and your rental house did not disappoint! I’ve recommended you to friends planning to visit.

Jan. 2023 – Adult family of 4 who enjoy cooking were very happy with our stay. St John is perfect if you love the beach, water sports, hiking, and general relaxation. Not much else to do/see there. Villa is a perfect layout for adults with comfortable bedrooms and privacy opportunities. Kitchen was extremely well-stocked with just about everything a cook might need. Entire property indoors and out was ultra clean. Large outdoor space was perfect for getting some sun, outdoor dining, and watching the starts at night. Mosquitos and no-seeums no worse than FL (they were only active for a couple hours around sunset) Nice, deep pool. Very quiet location was a short drive from a few markets and town. Visited 7 different beaches during our stay and found the best snorkeling at Salt Pond Bay. Also would recommend visits to Oppenheimer and Hawksnest if you want to avoid the more crowded Maho (great for turtle sightings, though) and Trunk Bay (snorkel trail is disappointing, but beach is beautiful). Dennis Bay is a great beach but involves a 10 minute or so hike in. If you love authentic Carribean food, try Heading East Bar & Grill about 10 – 15 minute drive from the Villa (heading east, of course). Also loved the BBQ at the very simple but oh so tasty Uncle Joes in Cruz Bay. We tried for a couple higher end places but both had to close before our visits due to staffing/Covid issues. Bought a couple of large, fresh lobsters from just-returning fishermen in Cruz Bay at a great price. Also, found the fresh snapper, grouper, and shrimp to be reasonably priced (think Whole foods) and very, very fresh at Star Market. Availability was inconsistent but worth a try. Outdoor grill worked like a champ for all seafood and fish we cooked. If you go, you won’t be disappointed!

– We loved this property! Family of 5 with plenty of space! Loved the layout of the home. Beautiful views of Hart Bay from every space in the villa. Excellent location with easy driving to beaches, hikes, Cruz Bay and Mongoose Junction.

-Spacious, gorgeous views, a good kitchen, not far from town — highly recommended. Two things they might think about if they make any changes — there is no place to sit outdoors when it is raining, which it did now and again during our stay, so you have to dash inside with your dinner or whatever, and sometimes the weather clears just moments later. Second, there are sun chairs by the pool and rather uncomfortable oaken chairs around the table, but no comfortable chairs for 6 people to sit and chat in for an extended period of time. Plenty of room, though! We would go again despite these observations. It was delightful and we had a wonderful time.

4/14/18-4/22/18 – Ilios is looking GREAT! The island took the storms HARD but everything is coming back! And we will too! So great to see the care the owners have for this awesome spot! We had a great visit – out 2nd time staying at Ilios, first was Xmas 2006!
We did a lot of diving with Low Key – they are great! Loved the pool here! Look forward to seeing the “great wall” covered in vines & foliage! Many thanks for sharing this great spot!

422/18-4/29/18 – This is about our 6th stay at Ilios! The house looks gorgeous and we noticed and appreciated all the care and love put in to it! We had another wonderful stay with our family. It was amazing to see the efforts put in to restoring this special island. We noticed far fewer visitors than usual at this time. We were determined to come back to this incredible place. God willing we will be privileged to return. We loved eating at The Landing and Banana Deck, and Hightide. St John and Ilios have played a very special role in our family’s life.
