Exotic View was built and is currently owned by an experience and reputable St. John Builder/Contractor and his wife.  The design, materials, furnishings and amenities they utilized all combine perfectly to create, in our opinion, a premium 3-bedroom villa at a competitive price.  This home’s exotic views are just one reason to recommend it, other reasons include:

– Exotic View is only a 5-minute drive form the ferry dock in the middle of Cruz Bay, but a well chosen setting on a large lot and lush tropical landscaping create good privacy for a home so convenient to town.

–  This is a large 3+ bedroom villa (3600 sq.ft) that provides lots of space and comfort for 2 couples or a small family.

–  Exoctic View began renting in 2016, and with light use and excellent care this home is in like new condition.

–  Stone walls, arched windows, the abundant use of granite and mahogany, plus cathedral ceilings in every room create a beautiful Caribbean home with a rich island ambiance.

–  This is an ideal villa for sun lovers because the 32′ pool and the 1000 sq.ft sun deck, are covered in sun from 9:00 am to sunset.  With its large covered deck, this is also an ideal home for relaxing outside while protected from the sun.

Living & Dining: The spacious and air-conditioned great room includes comfortable seating for 4-6 and there is a 42” cable TV. The large arched windows and sliding doors are screened and open to the cooling trade winds. A stereo system and internet access are included, and there is a half bath just off the great room. A second living area extends out onto the covered deck where you have 600 sq/ft of outdoor living and dining space with comfortable cushioned furniture, a table for six, a gas BBQ grill and the best views in or out of the villa.

The interior dining table seats six with a water view and the table on the covered deck also seats six with an even more enjoyable view.

Kitchen: This gourmet kitchen is functional, beautiful and very well equipped and supplied, including stainless steel appliances, a 4-burner gas stove and oven, D/W, granite counter tops, mahogany cabinets and an island bar with seating for three persons to entertain the chef. All the usual small appliances such as a drip coffee maker, ice maker, blender, toaster and others are included.

Bedroom Details: The two air-conditioned bedrooms both have king beds with delightful sea views, TVs, walk in closets and cathedral ceilings. Both bedrooms have interior access from the great room. The sliding glass doors of the teal (left) bedroom open to the covered deck, while the lime bedroom sliders open to a private deck above the pool. The sliders have window blinds to help you enjoy a late vacation wake-up. Each bedroom has a refined and very attractive en suite bathroom with a tiled shower and double vessel sinks.  The 3rd bedroom is located on the pool level of the home and includes 2 queen beds, which are separated by a barn door.  This bedroom shares a full bath.

A washer/dryer is included as are all towels and linens, hair dryer, ironing board, safe, cooler, beach chairs and totes.

Exotic View is located on a hillside on the outer edge of Cruz Bay, where Cruz Bay transitions into Great Cruz Bay. The splendid view overlooks Cruz Bay, Pillsbury Sound, the Caribbean Sea and lots of islands that include Little St. James on the southern edge, St. Thomas in the middle, and the Hans Lollicks in the north. The villa is situated so that you are able to watch the sun actually drop into the horizon in an explosion of color, 365 days of the year.

The National Park beaches on the north shore are a 10-20 minute drive, depending on which beach is on the beach adventure agenda for the day. The many restaurants, bars, shops and nightlife of the festive town of Cruz Bay are an easy 5-minute drive, but far enough away to maintain a peaceful setting. More than an exotic view, this is actually an exotic location.

CELL PHONE SERVICE: Cell phone service on St. John may be spotty with certain carriers. Additionally, North Shore locations may pick up cell towers on Tortola (The British Virgin Islands). If this occurs, expensive roaming charges could potentially be applied to your bill and/or you may be charged international rates. PLEASE FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH YOUR PERSONAL CELL PHONE PLAN BEFORE TRAVELING TO THE ISLAND. This villa is equipped with Wilson Cellular Signal Booster Technology, which is positioned towards St. Thomas. The system serves to stabilize and strengthen incoming and outgoing cellular phone and Internet signals at the house, and, in most cases, your communications will be via cell towers on St. Thomas and not Tortola. St. Thomas antennas are AT&T dominated. Thus, cell phone users on St. John find AT&T the company of choice for coverage, efficiency, and, at times, to avoid roaming charges. You may wish to consider a pay-as-you-go AT&T phone for your vacation if you use another carrier. Again, know your cell phone plan. Lastly, for communicating with friends and relatives off island from the villa, always consider your computer’s video Skype mode via the house’s WiFi system. In most cases, this will be free.

LOCAL PHONE SERVICE: Local phone service is available at this villa through the island’s only telephone company. As with many services on St. John, it can occasionally be interrupted. We will do our best to remedy the situation should this happen. Again, you may wish to consider a pay-as-you-go AT&T cell phone, since we do not provide cell phones should local phone service be compromised.

INTERNET SERVICE: Internet on St. John has traditionally been poor and via the Island’s single telephone company using DSL connections. On a Clear Day … is proud to announce that our Internet service is now provided Love City Community Network (LCCN), a non-profit, high speed, fiberoptic initiative created from the ground up by St. John Islanders immediately post Hurricane Irma in order to supply the area with emergency communication. Should LCCN connectivity be lost, villa Internet fails over to a backup AT&T cellular connection. A suggested backup system for guests to be used on other parts of St. John and in St. Thomas is mobile cellular Internet MiFi via AT&T or Virgin Mobile.

We are sorry that there can be no refunds for Internet and/or telephone failure.

PHONE SERVICE/CELL PHONES: Local phone service is interrupted regularly and in spite of our efforts to reinstate service it can sometimes take weeks. AT&T is the only cell service we find operates efficiently on the island. If you do not have AT&T we strongly suggest you bring a pay as you go AT&T cell phone with you as we do not provide cell phones should the local phone service be interrupted.

POOL FLOATS: Pool floats are not guaranteed with your villa rental. If you want access to them, please bring them with you.

The kitchen was fully stocked with any kind of utensil you could think of and the living and sleeping spaces were very comfortable. The gift basket left for us by the owners was a nice touch and very much appreciated! We loved sitting on the lanai looking out at St. Thomas in the distance and watching the beautiful sunsets and the pool on the lower level was fabulous. The staff at the Caribbean Villas office was very helpful when we had questions or needed help with a smoke detector beeping in the bedroom (it was taken care of quickly). “This was a view of a lifetime! I have been to St. John a few times before, normally renting condos. We had always loved the idea of staying at a villa up in the hills and this property did not disappoint! I new the views were going to be incredible, and thought the views would far surpass the home itself. The photos did not do the interior justice! The kitchen and living room area were much bigger than the photos portrayed as well as being well maintained and stocked with every kitchen item you could think of. (maybe add a crockpot??) There were many extra pillows and blankets, as well as stocked with everything pool/beach related you could think of. Nothing topped off a great day at the beautiful beaches than taking a night swim in the pool with that incredible view! Stunning!!! If any of you have been to the Windmill Bar, I have to say that this view was only 2nd to the Windmill. I have worked with Caribbean Villa’s of St. John and their customer service is wonderful! They are very quick to respond to any and all questions, check in and check out of the villa went super smooth. This property even has a meet and greet when you arrive. They will take/follow you to the property and introduce you to the property.
The main floor has two king suite rooms, each with an attached private bathroom, very large living area, dining room with table that seats 6, the island has two barstools and plenty of counter top space for entertaining. The outdoor upper deck area has seating for 10 or more, very large area with stunning views…did I say that? I really should say it again and again, as it is amazing! Walk down the stairs to the lower deck level with a 32′ x 12′ pool overlooking the amazing sights of St. Thomas. The downstairs level also has two queen bedrooms with a sliding door for privacy, full bathroom w/stand up showers (oh, there are no bath tubs, but wasn’t an issue for us) and the lower level rooms also have a small dorm type refrigerator. The plants and landscaping was just simply beautiful. Loved the sounds as well – views of the cargo people/car ferries were fun to watch as well. I do hope to return, as this was a stunning place. “We have been to the USVI several times but always at a resort. This was our first stay on St. John itself and first time in a house. It did not disappoint. The house is perfect for two couples with essentially mirror image suites on either side of the house. The indoor space is very nice, comfortable and quite well appointed and the outdoor space is awesome. The deck overlooking beautiful Cruz Bay and the pool one level down is a fantastic place to spend your time. Close to ferry, downtown Cruz Bay and its restaurants and attractions and close to other resorts. The drive up to the house is serious but once you’ve done it a time or two, its no problem. We love the safe and friendly feel of St. John and this beautiful property is a great choice! Access to the rest of the gorgeous place that is St. John is easy. We LOVE it and will be back. “Great property for two couples. Equal bedrooms with private baths + half bath in large common area. Lower level 3rd Bedroom apparently in construction. Beautiful, comfortable pool is on lower level which could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues or avoiding stairs. Gorgeous views of St Thomas. Welcome basket from owner was a nice surprise. Well organized kitchen with all appliances & utensils and some decent wine glasses as well as tulip flutes for bubbly. (We’ve found these glasses oddly lacking in other villas & hard to buy). We had a minor problem with the grill but maintenance was there promptly the next morning. The grill was located outside the entrance which was a bit odd but manageable. Overall 5 stars. -We stayed in this house with another couple. It was absolutely perfect size, and both bedrooms/bathrooms are beautiful and spacious. The pool is fantastic (keep an eye out for the iguana perched on his tree at sunset on the side of the waterfall!). Speaking of the waterfall, it made for very calming background noise throughout our time there. It was very convenient to get to town. The house was immaculate and incredibly well organized. We were left several essentials upon our arrival, and there are beach bags towels and chairs for your use. The washing machine and dryer were great as well. We would absolutely return to this house!

-Having stayed here many times we were looking for a new accommodation so we reached out to the friendly folks at Caribbean Villa’s of St John. Things could not have been easier or smoother! We chose Exotic View for our family of 4 (this was the kids first time!). Wow- what an awesome experience- the name truly lives up to expectations. We were greeted at the ferry dock by a member of the Villa group. She showed us the way up Jacob’s Ladder just past Starfish Market. A Jeep is required to reach this property (mainly if the ground is wet due to the grade)- the first trip was a little intimidating… until we parked.. shown through the front door and to the back porch/patio…. And WOW!!! The view over to St Thomas and surround island is spectacular!

-Exotic View honored us with some mesmerizing sunsets from the Balcony or from the warm refreshing water of the amazing swimming pool. It was hard to pry the kids away from the pool patio and to the beaches because it was so convenient and perfect! The house is extremely well equipped with all of the essentials labeled to eliminate confusion. The kitchen was fully equipped with modern appliances and the washer/dryer is an excellent addition. The tradewinds were pleasant and if was warm at all the AC in all areas did an exceptional job of cooling us down after a day on the beach in the sun.

You are only a few minutes from a drive into Cruz- or up over Centerline to Coral Bay, Windmill Bar, Shambles, etc. What a magnificent location!

We will certainly visit this property again in the future and look forward to the exceptional service from Caribbean Villas of St John.
