Welcome to Paradise!  Island Girl is a beautifully appointed 4 bedroom 4.5 bath home with a private pool.  This wonderful home was designed by the award winning Barefoot Architect, which has a well established history of designing beautiful villas on St. John. The architect created a villa that was designed to maximize the views; from the great room, to the bedrooms, as well as all the spacious decks, your eyes will be immediately drawn to the majestic views of Coral Bay and beyond.

From the moment you arrive, you will appreciate the aesthetically pleasing details at Island Girl.  From the parking area, which can accommodate two vehicles, to the gated entrance and lush landscaping, no detail was too small.  As you gaze around at the tropical and colorful flowers, you will see hummingbirds and bananaquits coming in for a visit and don’t miss the fruit trees surrounding the villa; banana, papaya, mango and lime trees, are available for you to enjoy during your stay.

The same can be said for when you enter the villa, the color palette, the elegant, yet comfortable furnishings all add to the ambiance of this stylish villa, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.  The multi-level design includes, an open floor plan with the great room and covered deck on the main level, one master bedroom on the upper level and three additional master bedrooms, all with their own outside seating areas, are located on the lower levels.  All floors are accessed by an interior staircase, which is not a common design found in the Caribbean and one that is sure to be appreciated.

The pool, pool deck and poolside bar are located on the lower level of the home. The sparkling pool is a wonderful place to spend a lazy day, when you don’t feel like exploring.  At night, the pool deck is the perfect place to view the heavenly array of constellations in the evening sky.  If you are fortunate to be staying here when there is a full moon, the moonlight illuminates the sea and it is breathtaking.

Living & Dining: The air-conditioned great room consists of an open floor plan, with the living, interior dining and kitchen all on one level. There are retracting glass doors in the living room that open on to the covered deck, which will expand your living space and if desired, offers you an indoor/outdoor feel for your Caribbean vacation. The living room includes a cozy couch with chaise lounge, oversized chair, coffee table and end tables. For those wanting to watch your favorite sports team or TV drama, the home includes Dish satellite TV and a Blue Ray DVD player and a Smart TV (access Netflix & Prime Video using your personal logins). Some DVD’s, books and games are in the villa for your use or bring your favorites.

The interior and exterior dining tables each comfortably seat six and each enjoy the beautiful views overlooking Coral Bay. No matter where you chose to dine, you are sure to enjoy your time together, enjoying a delicious meal and conversation about the wonderful time you are having on St. John.

Kitchen: The well equipped gourmet kitchen, located just behind the living and dining area, includes stainless steel appliances (Wolfe, Sub Zero & Miele) and is accented by colorful glass tilework and Thinkglass countertops. The kitchen bar area is a perfect spot to gather and includes three bar stools, where you can sit and relax and enjoy your morning cup of coffee and chat with whoever is cooking.

Bedroom Details: The four en suite air-conditioned master bedrooms, are all beautifully decorated and include king beds, ocean views and private decks with comfy outdoor seating, a perfect spot to read a good book or enjoy your morning ‘cup of Joe’. Each bedroom is spread across the four levels of the home and are accessed by the interior staircase. The top level master bedroom includes an outdoor shower, the lower level, fourth bedroom includes an indoor and outdoor shower, where as the two middle level bedrooms each have an indoor shower. All bathrooms are exquisitely tiled, and each look out to the beautiful views of Coral Bay.

Island Girl is located in Flanagan’s Passage, in Coral Bay, high above Johnson Bay. Its majestic view overlooks outer Coral Bay, the East End of St. John, Tortola, Drakes Passage, and the necklace of islands that stretches from Norman Island all the way to Virgin Gorda and beyond. You are about a 7-10 minute drive to Coral Bay and 25-30 minute drive to Cruz Bay, all on paved roads. From the moment you arrive at Island Girl, you are sure to appreciate the privacy and peacefulness of this location.

The National Park beaches at Salt Pond Bay and Lameshur Bay are a 10-15 minute drive. The north shore beaches (Maho, Francis, Trunk Bays) are easily accessible from the Centerline Road and are about a 20 minute drive.

On the drive from Island Girl into Coral Bay there is an interesting selection of restaurant, bars, shops and grocery stores, all within a 3-10 minute drive. Various local restaurants such as Skinny Legs, Aqua Bistro, Salty Mongoose Rum & Pizza (new), Rhumblines, Caribbean Oasis and Miss Lucy’s offer a broad variety of food, from cheeseburgers to upscale gourmet dining and beverage options. You can also find local musicians playing sometimes during happy hours.

CELL PHONE SERVICE: Cell phone service on St. John may be spotty with certain carriers. Additionally, North Shore locations may pick up cell towers on Tortola (The British Virgin Islands). If this occurs, expensive roaming charges could potentially be applied to your bill and/or you may be charged international rates. PLEASE FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH YOUR PERSONAL CELL PHONE PLAN BEFORE TRAVELING TO THE ISLAND. This villa is equipped with Wilson Cellular Signal Booster Technology, which is positioned towards St. Thomas. The system serves to stabilize and strengthen incoming and outgoing cellular phone and Internet signals at the house, and, in most cases, your communications will be via cell towers on St. Thomas and not Tortola. St. Thomas antennas are AT&T dominated. Thus, cell phone users on St. John find AT&T the company of choice for coverage, efficiency, and, at times, to avoid roaming charges. You may wish to consider a pay-as-you-go AT&T phone for your vacation if you use another carrier. Again, know your cell phone plan. Lastly, for communicating with friends and relatives off island from the villa, always consider your computer’s video Skype mode via the house’s WiFi system. In most cases, this will be free.

LOCAL PHONE SERVICE: Local phone service is available at this villa through the island’s only telephone company. As with many services on St. John, it can occasionally be interrupted. We will do our best to remedy the situation should this happen. Again, you may wish to consider a pay-as-you-go AT&T cell phone, since we do not provide cell phones should local phone service be compromised.

INTERNET SERVICE: Internet on St. John has traditionally been poor and via the Island’s single telephone company using DSL connections. On a Clear Day … is proud to announce that our Internet service is now provided Love City Community Network (LCCN), a non-profit, high speed, fiberoptic initiative created from the ground up by St. John Islanders immediately post Hurricane Irma in order to supply the area with emergency communication. Should LCCN connectivity be lost, villa Internet fails over to a backup AT&T cellular connection. A suggested backup system for guests to be used on other parts of St. John and in St. Thomas is mobile cellular Internet MiFi via AT&T or Virgin Mobile.

We are sorry that there can be no refunds for Internet and/or telephone failure.

PHONE SERVICE/CELL PHONES: Local phone service is interrupted regularly and in spite of our efforts to reinstate service it can sometimes take weeks. AT&T is the only cell service we find operates efficiently on the island. If you do not have AT&T we strongly suggest you bring a pay as you go AT&T cell phone with you as we do not provide cell phones should the local phone service be interrupted.

POOL FLOATS: Pool floats are not guaranteed with your villa rental. If you want access to them, please bring them with you.

Aug 2023 – Island Girl was a perfect home for our family of 5. The view was amazing from every room, the A/C worked well and kept us comfortable every evening/night. The pool was a great place to relax and unwind after (every) day of snorkeling at the beaches. The owner had very helpful books that guided our snorkeling excursions. Our family is vegetarian so having a kitchen at our disposal was crucial and we chose the property based on the expectation of a full, functioning kitchen, especially during off season when many local restaurants were closed or had limited hours. Our only negative point was that the cooktop wasn’t working during our stay. It was disappointing to find this out at our arrival, and having only one burner was difficult as we do most of our cooking at home. However, Viky was amazing and brought us an additional portable cooktop to help us part way through our stay. Overall, island girl is a beautiful property.

– The moment you walk into this house you know that you are on vacation because of the priceless views and beautiful home decor! The living room is a great spot to watch tv or read the many books the house has to offer. The kitchen is marvelous because of the stunning marble tables and limitless cooking ware! The cabinet near it has lots of first aid for any other injury or problem you may have, but it also includes so many good board games to play with your family or friends! The 4 big bedrooms and 4 private bathrooms that they come with are also beautiful and gives you pic-worthy photos to share on social media! Don’t even get me started on outside. The pool is big and oh! Did I mention the big balconies? This house really had it all, and I mean it.

-Our stay was everything we expected and more. The accommodations and appointments in this lovely villa are second to none. Vicki our contact person was a pleasure to work with and offered all the help we needed. The location has absolutely spectacular views but it is quite a drive back to Cruz Bay from the country side.

-Island Girl was absolutely perfect. The images on the site do not do the property justice. As soon as we entered the gate we were transported to our island oasis. The home is well appointed, spectacularly maintained and has a very functional and beautiful layout. The outdoor space, island breezes, incredible views and gorgeous bedroom areas were enjoyed by everyone. We are already thinking about our next visit back! Thank you so very much for a wonderful week of connection, play and rest.

-In a word….wow. There was little reason to leave the house for the week. Well stocked, plenty of amenities, great location, great view. Top five of all vacation rentals in the past 20 years. Quiet location overlooking the water. Great pool, great views. I hate giving these kinds of reviews because we’ll probably never get back in to this house as the reservations will pile up for months and months. Well done!
