Cruz Views #02 – El Capricho – Cruz Bay (Hillside)

Cruz Views #02 has a new name, El Capricho.  This one bedroom (a/c in the bedroom), one bath condo is located in the upper right corner above the pool and has a parking spot steps from the unit.  El Capricho enjoys beautiful pool views as well as scenic vistas overlooking the Cruz Bay region and beyond.

For those who have stayed here before, you will enjoy seeing the new improvements that were just completed. For new guests considering a stay, El Capricho is a corner condo, and has a spacious wrap around deck.  On the front deck, you will enjoy relaxing on the new sectional couch where you are able to relax and look out towards the pool and view.   When you enter through the new screened sliding glass doors, you will be welcomed by the colorful and inviting atmosphere at El Capricho.  The new pullout sofa and chair are stylish and comfortable, perfect for watching your favorite show on the the 43 inch flat screen cable TV.

The kitchen is located just behind the living room and has new cabinetry and countertops.  There is a 4 burner glass cooktop stove, a combo toaster/convection combo, toaster, microwave, drip coffee maker, coffee grinder and blender available for your use.  You can easily prepare a delicious meal and for dining, there is a table for two on the side deck or an interior dining table that seats 4.

To the right of the living area, there are stairs up to the bedroom and bathroom.  The bedroom has a queen bed and a/c.  You can sleep in air-conditioned comfort or if you prefer to sleep to the tropical sounds of the Caribbean, you can open the screened window and let the sounds and breezes of the tropics lull you to sleep.  The bathroom is located at the end of the hallway and has a tiled shower.

We have no doubt you will enjoy your stay at El Capricho and this newly updated condo will become your new home away from home.

Cruz Views is tucked into a tropical hillside 160 feet above the town of Cruz Bay. The units all face southwest to capture lots of sun and picturesque views of turquoise seas by day, memorable sunsets at days end, and the twinkling lights of distant islands at night. It’s an easy walk into Cruz Bay (downhill) but the walk back to Cruz Views is a bit more challenging, especially if you have enjoyed a few of the island’s infamous rum punches.

NOTE: The Cruz Views Complex has a resident outdoor cat that visits the property.

INTERNET SERVICE: The internet service is subject to frequent interruption. We cannot guarantee internet quality or speed. Renters might find it convenient to travel with a cellular carrier MiFi – a couple of examples are AT&T and Virgin Mobile. There will be no refunds due to the internet not working.

PHONE SERVICE/CELL PHONES: Local phone service is interrupted regularly and in spite of our efforts to reinstate service it can sometimes take weeks. AT&T is the only cell service we find operates efficiently on the island. If you do not have AT&T we strongly suggest you bring a pay as you go AT&T cell phone with you as we do not provide cell phones should the local phone service be interrupted.

POOL FLOATS: Pool floats are not guaranteed with your villa rental. If you want access to them, please bring them with you.

March 2024 – We have never stayed in Cruz Views but will certainly be doing it again! El Capricho (CV#2) met all of our needs and we felt right at home. It’s clear that the owners don’t want this to feel like an investment property as it truly felt like we were staying at a friend’s house. From the cozy furniture (comfy mattress which we LOVED!) to the decor, we felt right at home for our 8 day stay. The location was PERFECT-so close to town yet away from the hustle and bustle. Thank you to the owners for opening up your home-we had a fabulous stay which made our vacation all that much better on the best island in the Caribbean! We will be back!

Feb. 2024 – The entire experience with Caribbean Villas of St. John was wonderful from start to finish. The booking process was extremely easy and the booking staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout the process. We were given frequent email communication throughout the months leading up to our trip. We were given contact information for our arrival as well as if we needed anything during our stay. The villa was exceptional and there was more than we would ever need! We thoroughly enjoyed our time and look forward to booking again next year!

Mar. 2023 – 100% AMAZING Property! Everything was exactly as advertised and the location and views excellent! You definitely need a rental car to navigate the steep hills and to explore the amazing Island beauty! Will most definitely rent from Cruz Views again!

Feb. 2023- We stayed 3 weeks. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Communications with the property managers was excellent. The unit was spotless. Kitchen was well stocked. View was fantastic. As an end unit, it was nice to have room to spread out on the deck as the interior was a bit cramped. We suggest that the heavy furniture be swapped out for smaller furniture. Also suggest repositioning the tv to make viewing easier. Mattress has a memory foam topper which made it very comfortable. The AC unit was a bit noisy. We slept with the fan on and AC off. Overall a very nice stay. We’ll be back.

-Dec 2022 – We loved our week at Cruz Views. It had everything that we needed to be able to have a fabulous week of snorkeling and exploring St John Island. We would stay here again!

-Such a wonderful condo complex: pool, amazing views, ease of access and the bed was super comfy! I will be back!

Feb 2022 -this location was great for our family of 3. pool was great, we barbqued, nice quiet location with a great view.
