LOCATION. Virgin Seabreeze is located on the edge of the National Park in Reef Bay. The road to Reef Bay dead ends about a half mile beyond your villa, and with almost no vehicular traffic and great natural beauty, this villa setting is as peaceful, pristine and beautiful as any to be found on St John’s Caribbean coast.
The magnificent views include virgin rain forest on Bordeaux Mountain, the "Big Sur" like shoreline of the National Park and miles of blue Caribbean. Below you lay the usually deserted sands of Reef Bay Beach, St. John's most virgin National Park beach where sea turtles still lay their eggs and snorkeling, swimming and beach walks are private and inviting. A one mile hike along the shore brings you to a second beach at the head of Reef Bay while other trails take you on more challenging hikes through the National Park to Lameshur Bay, Bordeaux Mountain or Rams Head.
It's only a 4 mile drive to Cruz Bay, almost all of which is a paved road, but Reef Bay is off the beaten path so few tourists ever explorer this beautiful and relatively unknown area of St John.

DESIGN. Virgin Seabreeze consists of three hip roofed buildings; the Great House, the Guest House and the master bath. You park above the buildings and walk down a stone stairway to the brick patio adjoining the Great House. The living, dining and kitchen areas, the master bedroom, a guest bedroom plus the loft bedroom are all located in the Great House. The Guest House, which is about 30 feet to the right of the Great House, contains upper and lower level bedrooms. A large brick patio with a gazebo adjoins the Great House and the Guest House. The hot tub sits in a private and romantic site on the other (left) side of the house. Three sets of stairs lead from the Great House down to the spacious pool and sundeck on the lower level.
The solid masonry construction, brick patios and courtyards, hand cut stone walls, tiled roofs, terraced gardens, multiple decks, large pool and hot tub, a/c, and quality furnishings and antique accessories, demonstrate that a lot of planning and expense went into the construction, furnishing and remodeling of this spacious villa.

LIVING/DINING/KITCHEN. A 25 foot tall cathedral ceiling with a 12 foot long skylight combines with white tiled floors and white walls to create a bright and cheerful living and dining area. On the Reef Bay side of the living room screened French doors open to a seaside deck, while on the other wall 3 screened double wooden doors open to views of the courtyard and terraced gardens. The designer rattan furniture in the living room seats 8 on a couch, loveseat, and chair. A cable color TV/VCR and stereo with cassette/CD player provides the entertainment, and ceiling fans and the trade winds provide more than adequate ventilation.
Seabreeze offers you 4 dining options. In the great house a rattan and glass table seats 6-8 in the tiled dining room. Under the tiled gazebo on the brick patio tables seat 4-8 or you may dine in the courtyard, while on the pool deck below a deck table also seats 4-6. A mahogany bar that seats 5 separates the kitchen from the living room, and the bow windows give the chef a beautiful view of Reef Bay.
This is a handsome kitchen with hardwood cabinets accented by white tiled floors and countertops. Appliances include a 4 burner gas stove/oven, a refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, a dishwasher, 2 microwaves, a blender and coffee maker. There are hand painted decorative pieces and multiple sets of dinnerware. A gas BBQ grill is on the patio. A washer/dryer and freezer are located in an alcove off the great house.

CARIBBEAN VILLAS COMMENTS. We began offering Virgin Seabreeze for rental vacations in 1992. At that time we described its location as… "quiet, peaceful, private, and splendidly beautiful and unspoiled." Jump ahead to 2006, and our description of Reef Bay is the same now as it was in 1992.
Although Reef Bay hasn’t changed all that much, Virgin Seabreeze certainly has. In 2005-06 this villa was substantially updated and refurbished. All the doors and windows were replaced and air conditioning and a very private and romantic hot tub were added. The rooms were refurnished, new stairs to the pool and a new pool deck were added, and many other updates and improvements were made.
In 1992 we said that Virgin Seabreeze,
“…easily earns a strong recommendation. First, Seabreeze is a beautiful example of classic Danish architecture on St John, with white masonry buildings, tiled roofs, wooden shutter doors, an antique brick patio and courtyard, gorgeous hand cut stonework, a spacious layout and terraced tropical gardens. Second, the interior of Seabreeze is comfortable and attractive with custom built rattan furniture, cathedral ceilings, white tiled floors, mahogany trim, and precious antique accessories throughout the Great House and Guest House. Lastly, this attractive home is located on the edge of and looks into, St John's stunningly beautiful National Park. This is a great house for families or couples and the Great House makes a romantic and luxurious hideaway for honeymooners and lovers.”
What was true then is also true now; this spacious and classic villa offers a lot of value.
