LOCATION. Toa Toa, like its neighbor Summer Heights, is located on the south side of Tortola in Haver's Hill. This hillside setting is an excellent location for serious sun lovers, for the sun shines on your pool deck from 8 AM to sunset. The marvelous views extend from Virgin Gorda in the east, past Salt, Copper, Norman and the other islands of the Francis Drake Channel, and on to St John and St. Thomas in the west. At the end of the day you may be blessed with a partial sunset over the hills of St. John.
Toa Toa is a 5-minute drive from the sailor's bars, restaurants and shops at the colorful harbor of Nanny Cay. Soper's Hole, with more nautical restaurants, bars, shopping, nightlife and the ferry dock is a picturesque 10 minute drive. Road Town is a 10-15 minute drive in the opposite direction. Swimming and snorkeling at the north shore beaches of Long Bay, Carrot Bay and Smuggler's Cove are a 10-15 minute drive through the scenic green hills that separate the north and south shores of Tortola.

DESIGN. This is a traditional and attractive West Indian design that consists of 5 brightly colored buildings (pavilions) that are connected by decks, stairs and walkways. You enter Toa-Toa by the pavilion that houses the kitchen and the poolroom. As you walk along the deck towards the pool, the 2-level Great House is next with the Great Room on the lower level and the master bedroom on the upper level. Beyond the pool on the far end of the deck is the second bedroom in a separate pavilion. Stairs lead to the third bedroom in a pavilion above the pool deck, and stairs also lead down to the 4th bedroom in a separate pavilion below the pool deck. The deck railing certainly enhances the view, but it is neither designed for nor recommended for young children.

KITCHEN / POOL ROOM / DINING/ LIVING. The kitchen is located in the rear of the pavilion that houses the poolroom. It contains a 4-burner gas stove and oven, two refrigerator/freezers, dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffeemaker, toaster and all necessary dinnerware and cookware. A barbeque gas grill is on the deck.
|
The pool room contains a regulation pool table and everything else that you need to "rack em up." Just outside the poolroom and kitchen is the tiled, alfresco dining area that contains a teak table and chairs for 8 in a shady lanai (covered deck area).
The Great Room contains a mahogany bar, two overstuffed sofas and an answering plus fax machine, cable color TV/VCR and DVD plus a stereo with cassette and CD player, plus a movie and music collection and books, and games.

BEDROOMS. Each of the four romantic bedroom suites (king beds) is located in a separate pavilion, thereby insuring quiet privacy for up to 4 couples. One of the bedrooms may be set up with 2 twin beds rather than a king bed. All the bedrooms are screened and spacious, and each bedroom offers its own individual mini-fridge, coffeemaker, hairdryer, tiled bath and shower and a private covered balcony with a table and chair set. The views from each bedroom are excellent.
CARIBBEAN VILLAS' VIEW. You take a sharp turn off the shoreline road and then climb about 300 feet up a steep, winding drive to where the view changes from scenic to spectacular; you've arrived at Toa-Toa. Walk onto your pool deck and take in the view that stretches 180 degrees. From Virgin Gorda in the east to St. John in the west, the vista is dotted with green islands and white sails. The seascape is not only lovely, it's active and always changing as sun and sailboats slowly move across your horizon. Some of the finest sailboats in the Caribbean cruise these waters and you have a bird's eye view of these boats as they silently claw their way upwind in the blue waters directly below your villa.
Don't worry about starting on your tan right away, for this south facing home is for sun lovers and you can bask in its warmth all day long.
For privacy for 1-4 couples, this handsome, traditional design is hard to beat. With its combination of five cottages and pavilions, your (clothing optional) privacy, space and peace and quiet is assured. Even though Toa-Toa has 5 buildings, the cottages and the Great House feel like a single house because they're all tied together by the large deck and stairways.
The owner of Toa-Toa lives nearby and she's a friendly, very helpful and welcoming person who will enhance your enjoyment of Toa-Toa. The owner is always eager to help her guests have a wonderful vacation, and she works hard to insure that her guests return year after year. She's well informed on all the best restaurants, beaches, bars and snorkel and dive spots on Tortola, and always willing to recommend favorite places to snorkel, dine or shop.
Upon advance request, groceries and drinks can be stocked for your arrival, a chef may be obtained for a memorable Toa-Toa dinner, and additional maid service may be arranged. Beauty treatments, massages and spa services may also be arranged at Toa-Toa.
