It's a 5-minute drive to excellent swimming and sand castles at the beach at Cane Garden Bay. Road Town is a very scenic 10-15 minute drive over the mountain, and the airport and Soper's Hole are both 15-25 minute drives, depending on how exciting you dare to make the drive.
DESIGN. This is a spacious design (7100 square feet) that consists of three pavilions (buildings) that are connected by marble decks and walkways. All the rooms except the 4th bedroom are on the upper level. You park above Arundel and descend a flight of stairs to the great room, located in the main pavilion. The kitchen is just off the great room and so is the music room with its baby grand piano. The primary dining area adjoins the great room and there is also a lanai just outside the great room. The L-shaped pool, marble deck and hot tub separate the main pavilion from Orchid Suite, the master bedroom. The master bedroom is actually a 4-room suite that includes a novel Japanese reading room and a massage room plus a large tiled bath. On the other side of the main pavilion is the 3rd pavilion with the second and third bedrooms on the upper level and the fourth bedroom on the lower level. KITCHEN / DINING / LIVING. The living room, with its South Pacific island overtones, is stylishly furnished with elephant bamboo furniture from Bali, and antiques from Korea and China. Contributing to the Asian /Polynesian decor are Asian floral prints, Chinese porcelain vases and an intriguing 18-foot oriental dragon that resides high up in the cathedral ceiling. Just off the living room, the music room contains an ebony baby grand piano, a 500 CD carousel and a wet bar with icemaker. The music is delivered through interior and exterior (poolside) Bose speakers and the sound quality is excellent. The living area also includes a computer with Internet access and a fax machine with a dedicated line. The kitchen is compatible with the rest of this luxury villa with a Viking stainless steel 6-burner stove and oven, a refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and complete sets of dinnerware, cookware and appliances. A gas grill is on the deck.
BEDROOMS. In the third (bedroom) pavilion the two upper level bedrooms (queen beds) are very similar in size and both are finely decorated with a restful and romantic décor. Arundel distinguishes itself with its attention to detail with items such as Arundel terry cloth robes, hair dryers, and specialty soaps and shampoos. Also, every bedroom is screened and air-conditioned and contains a cable color TV/VCR and DVD and a private balcony.
CARIBBEAN VILLAS' VIEW. This is a special house, with some wonderful features that really set it apart from most other Tortola villas. We think that Arundel has one of the better locations on Tortola, with an oversized lot in a peaceful, quiet and very (clothing optional) private setting. Even before you enter Arundel, you will be awed by the fabulous views. After 18 years in the villa business and on site evaluations of hundreds of homes in the Virgin Islands, we know what an outstanding view is, and Arundel has it. The view overlooks Cane Garden Bay and then sweeps down the north coast of Tortola to include St. John, St. Thomas and over a dozen other distant islands. At any time during the day, at sunset or throughout the evening, this mesmerizing view is nothing short of majestic.
