Location and Design. Second Wind was completed in 2000 and is the latest addition to the very few rental villas available in the largely undeveloped and beautiful Reef Bay area. This 3 bedroom, 3 bath villa consists of a main house and 2 guest pavilions that are connected by decks. The main house contains the living and dining rooms, a kitchen and a master bedroom. The 2 guest houses contain the second and third master bedrooms.

Second Wind was built on a south facing lot on the boundary line of the National Park. It is about a 1-2 minute walk to the Reef Bay path and a 5 minute hike down to swimming, snorkeling, surfing, kayaking and the often deserted white sands at Reef Bay Beach, which is one of the most private National Park beaches on St John. For hikers, a scenic 1 mile hike along the Reef Bay shoreline brings you to another white sand beach at the head of Reef Bay. There is also an old sugar mill here with a self guided interpretative tour. Another 1.6 mile National Park trail leads you to the turquoise waters, white sands and snorkeling at Lameshure Beach. Along the way, visit the petroglyphs and a partially restored old manor house. You can also take a more challenging 1.2 mile hike to the top of scenic Bordeaux Mountain. It's a 4 mile drive into Cruz Bay, part of which is on a dirt road that discourages tourists from venturing into this still secret part of St. John.

Living/Dining/Kitchen. Lots of south facing windows provide peaceful ocean views and create a bright interior that is accented by rose tiled floors, white walls and rattan furniture that creates a comfortable and relaxing tropical island home. The living room includes a TV/VCR, stereo/cassette/CD and books and games and an eclectic collection of Caribbean art. The dining room seats 6 around a wooden table or you can dine on the deck. The handsome kitchen is fully tiled and well appointed with a 4 burner gas stove and oven, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, telephone and a washer/dryer. A BBQ gas grill is on the deck.

Bedrooms. All three air-conditioned master bedrooms (2 kings, 2 twins-convert to king) enjoy romantic water views through screened sliding glass doors. Each master also has a tiled bath with a shower with a view.

CARIBBEAN VILLAS' VIEW. Second Wind is another excellent villa for honeymooners, romantics, families, ecotourists, or anyone looking to relax and unwind in one of St. John’s most peaceful and naturalist settings’. You can stroll along a deserted National Park beach where sea turtles still nest or hike along the nearby National Park trails. Active guests can swim, snorkel, surf or kayak in crystal-clear 82-degree waters a short hike from your villa, or just lounge in your hot tub and relax around your pool and sun deck in quiet privacy. Second Wind is an attractive home that offers a lot of amenities and activities at a competitive price, and is strongly recommended for those who want to get away from it all in a remarkably pristine and beautiful setting. This is also one of the few homes that we offer where there are no stairs or steps, everything is on one level.
