LOCATION. Sea Cove is located in the middle of Peter Bay, less than a 5-minute walk to the white sands and turquoise waters of Peter Bay Beach. Peter Bay is one of the few parcels of pristine north shore land that was not deeded over to the National Park by Lawrence Rockefeller in the 1950s, and today it remains tranquil, peaceful, private and exceptionally scenic, surrounded as it is on all sides by National Park forests, waters and reefs.

The Peter Bay homes (as of 2013 there were about 19) all have deeded access to the beach at Peter Bay which is located between the National Park beaches at Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay and is very similar to these world class, exceptionally beautiful beaches. The fine white sand and usually calm turquoise waters of this beautiful beach provide excellent swimming and good snorkeling. On a perfect beach day in January the National park beaches will host hundreds of people, but it’s rare to see even a handful of people on Peter Bay (it’s privately owned).

The wonderful views from Sea Cove look north and east and include the lush mountains of the north shore of St. John, Cinnamon, Maho and Francis Bays, Whistling Cay, and Great Thatch and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. It’s a 5-10 minute, incredibly picturesque drive to the three restaurants at the acclaimed Caneel Bay Resort, and another 5-10 minute drive to the captivating restaurants, shops and groceries in the fun loving, delightful town of Cruz Bay.

DESIGN. This majestic home consists of a large 2-level great house with three bedrooms and a 2-level guesthouse with two more bedrooms, which is sited across the circular entry courtyard. The upper level of the great house contains the kitchen, living and dining rooms, an office, a master bedroom, and a spacious deck that runs the entire length of the house. Interior stairs lead to the lower level with 2 bedrooms, a second living room/ media room and a large pool and coral stone pool deck. Overall, this is a strikingly attractive and spacious design that incorporates coral stone floors and decks, arched entryways flanked by coral pillars, arched handcrafted cedar doors, handsome stone walls, tiled roofs and rich and unusual furnishings and accessories. The design, furnishings and accessories leave no doubt that this is one of St John’s finest luxury villas.

LIVING/DINING. Sea Cove has three different living areas, four if you include the theater. The upper living room adjoins the dining room and kitchen and has vaulted ceilings, coral floors, and very comfortable custom furniture. Seven sets of arched French doors lead from the living room to the coral stone upper deck. There’s no TV or DVD here, this room is for reading or for listening to the outstanding sound quality coming from the Bryson top of the line stereo/CD/VCR system. For movies or sports, head down to the lower living area which also has plush furniture, a wet bar and frig and a 60 inch Sony projection TV.
In 2003, an adjoining garage on the upper level was totally remodeled into a lovely state of the art library/home theater with a Sony 60 inch plasma TV/DVD, giving guests a total of 3 living/entertainment rooms.

The interior dining table is off the kitchen but there are dining tables on both decks. A cozy garden dining nook with a stainless steel barbeque and a table for 6 is just outside the kitchen.

KITCHEN. The kitchen is very well equipped with first class equipment and appliances, including; 2 refrigerator/freezers, twin ovens, a 5-burner gas stove, microwave, icemaker, bread maker, grill machine, steamer, blender, Caphalon cookware and complete dinnerware.

This HOME THEATER is in the running (along with the theater at Kismet) for best home theater and audio room on St. John. This 400 sq/ft room seats 8 and has custom built bamboo floors and handcrafted burled maple cabinets and walls. It’s quite a beautiful room, but when you turn on the sound system - it becomes magnificent. The two Rotel RB 1080 amplifiers plus a Rotel stereo amplifier and a Panamax Regenerator amplifier push fantastic sound out to $10,000 worth of custom built surround sound speakers. For the non technophile, this is near perfect sound reproduction that will blow your socks off. (It also has iPod connectivity.) For entertainment, the theater has a 50” flat screen TV and DVD plus a wine refrigerator and sink.

BEDROOMS. All bedrooms have A/C and all (except the lower guest house bedroom) have sliding screened glass doors that open to views, decks or balconies. The master bedroom (king) is on the upper level of the great house and features a large his and her bathroom and dressing room. Two more bedrooms (king and queen) are in the lower level of the great house on either side of the living area. The bedrooms in the guesthouse have queen beds and the lower bedroom is a suite with a small kitchen and sleep sofa. All bedrooms have a satellite TV and a tiled bath and shower.

As of winter 2012, we anticipate some construction noise and possibly periodic construction traffic interruptions that could affect the Peter Bay neighborhood. PHONE SERVICE/CELL PHONES: Local phone service is interrupted regularly and in spite of our efforts to reinstate service it can some times take weeks. AT&T is the only cell service we find operates efficiently on the island. If you do not have AT&T we strongly suggest you bring a pay as you go AT&T cell phone with you as we do not provide cell phones should the local phone service be interrupted.

CELL PHONE USAGE FROM HOMES LOCATED ALONG THE NORTH SHORE: If you use your cell phone on the north side of the island there is a good chance you will pick up the cell tower on Tortola (British Virgin Islands). If this happens you will be charged for an international call on your cell phone plan.

Internet Service: The internet service is subject to frequent interruption. We cannot guarantee internet quality or speed. Renters might find it convenient to travel with a cellular carrier MiFi – a couple of examples are AT&T and Virgin Mobile. There will be no refunds due to the internet not working.

Pool Floats: Pool floats are not guaranteed with your villa rental. If you want access to them, please bring them with you.
