This villa is located on a hill above Hart Bay, with a gorgeous view that extends down the entire south coast of St. John
Le Lapin is a spacious 4 – bedroom villa located in a seaside setting that is unusually private, peaceful and quiet.
On the pool side of the villa, the view stretches to St. Thomas and beyond.
At night the western view looks at the distant twinkling lights of St. Thomas, while the other side of the villa stares out at moonbeams dancing on the Caribbean Sea.
A 50″ TV with surround sound sits in a teak cabinet along the interior wall
The great room and all four bedrooms are blessed with the gorgeous down island views.
The great room opens to the south facing lower deck, which wraps around three sides of Le Lapin.
And no matter which way you look, your views are breathtaking
The great room has an open floor plan and stretches east to west for more than 30 feet.
The interior dining table and kitchen occupy the west end of the great room.
On the sunset (west) deck a teak table seats eight and is sheltered from the wind and rain
The view from either dining table looks directly at St Thomas, with 1500′ Crown Mountain towering above the island.

The private bath to the lower left bedroom can be entered from the hallway or bedroom.
In all the bedrooms, a screened sliding glass door opens to an exterior deck. This is the lower right bedroom.

You need only open an eye to see a sunrise, and this morning the clouds formed the shape of a rabbit to say good morning to Le Lapin II (the rabbit)
The pool is located in a lush garden setting that offers superb “no tan lines” privacy and tranquility.
Even though your 38′ pool is covered in sunshine the entire day, it also has a solar heating system which makes the water quite inviting for moonlight pool parties.

The Floor Plan for Le Lapin II

Le Lapin is an inviting 4-bedroom, 4 bath private villa with solar heated pool. The homeowners designed the villa to appeal to all St. John vacationers, as very few homes on the island are fully contained in one living space. From the great room to the bedrooms, all are interior access, which makes it a perfect choice for families traveling with children or couples looking for a spacious island getaway.

From where you park your vehicle, you walk up a few stairs to the gated pool area. The pool is 34’ x 12’ and includes plenty of lounge chairs for you to work on your golden tan or if you prefer some shade, relax in the hammock under the poolside pergola. The pool is located on the less windy, west side of the home, where the sun shines from sunup to sunset.

Just up from the pool level is the front entrance to the villa. The main level of the home includes the kitchen, living and dining area as well as two bedrooms and two bathrooms. An interior staircase takes you to the upper level where the two master bedrooms and baths are located. All the bedrooms include beautiful views of Hart
Bay, a/c and have a screened sliding glass door which opens to the unique wraparound decks and covered porches on each level.

The dual views are a favorite feature of this amazing home. From the living room, your views look out over Hart Bay and the south side of St John. Even though you are high on the hillside, you can still see and hear the waves breaking on the shoreline below. From the kitchen and pool side, your views look back across to St. Thomas and with this westerly view you will be in awe as the sun sets and as the twinkling lights of St. Thomas come on in the evenings.

Living & Dining: The open floor living area at Le Lapin is warm and welcoming and captures the east and west views through screened sliding glass doors. In the living room, you will enjoy curling up in the comfortable furniture all while enjoying time together away from your hectic everyday schedules. The living room includes a smart TV for you to stream your favorite shows from your personal accounts.

For your dining pleasure, there is an interior teak dining table for 6 – 8, centrally located between the living room and kitchen. For those preferring to dine outside, there is an exterior dining table on the covered deck which seats 6-8, which overlooks the pool and views across to St Thomas.

Kitchen: The kitchen is both handsome and functional, with granite counter tops, mahogany cabinets, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, K-cup, etc., 4 burner stove and oven, refrigerator/freezer, telephone and complete dinnerware, cookware and utensils. Guests also have access to a washer/dryer.

Bedroom Details: The bedrooms are all located on the side of the villa that faces Hart Bay. This is the breezy side of the home and for those that prefer sleeping with fresh air, you will enjoy being lulled to sleep with the sounds and tropical winds coming through your screened sliders and windows. The main level bedrooms have twin beds which can be converted to kings, while the master bedrooms are located on the upper level and both have king beds. All four bedrooms include a/c, tiled baths and showers, walk in closets and beautiful ocean views.

We were visited by quite a few animals; a (very sweet and friendly) dog, a hermit crab, a gecko, chickens and some stray cats. I forgot to mention we named the dog Kyle and he is fond of crackers. Jan. 2021 – Our 2 family group of 8 had a great stay here. Beautiful pool area and views, very private, nicely laid out interior was better than it appeared in the photos. Had an issue with water pressure that was quickly addressed- very responsive and efficient communication. Easy 10min drive to cruz bay. The road leading up to the property is steep but one quickly gets used to it. Having a jeep/4wd recommended. Would definitely stay here again.

June 17-24, 2021 – “This was our second trip to St John – we visited 2 months before the hurricane hit in 2017. We were heartbroken when we learned that “paradise” was so badly damaged. We decided to re-visit in 2020 – but then COVID hit. We must say that the process of delaying our trip one year was the easiest part of 2020! Thank you owners and Caribbean Villas!
Le Lapin is absolutely the best villa we have vacationed in and we have visited across the USA. We were already looking to see if it is open next year. There is not ONE thing we would change about this place – even the killer road leading up the hill to the condo (it gave it a hidden island feel).
We would recommend: the Tap Room (I think we ate there 3 times!); Waterfront Watersports (we rented a dinghy for the day and it was well worth it); Salt Pond (take noodles & go out to the rock formations – some BIG fish); Skinnylegs (the bushwackers will knock you out – literally! Be careful!). We have found that if you wait later in the day to go to Trunk Bay (3pm) you can get in for free & the crowd is gone… Also, the fish come out! We swam along the rocks on the right side of the beach around 4pm & felt like we were in an aquarium. Schools & Schools of fish and a huge selection of bigger fish out for dinner 🙂 Maho Bay had turtles, starfish and string rays…
Make dinner reservations if you have your heart set on a place – it was up to a 2 hours wait. These places wont even do take out orders because they are so backed up! Wear your mask – the islanders aren’t messing around. Enjoy and Thank You!”
