LOCATION. Fun and Contentment sits about 250 feet above the Bay House in Coral Bay (Coral Bay - Western hillside). To get to Fun and Contentment you take the scenic harbor road that runs along the west side of Coral Bay. Near the Island Blues Restaurant you take a right and take a bumpy (dirt road) climb up the hill that overlooks Coral Bay Harbor. When you reach an elevation of 360 feet above the harbor, you’re home. Fun and Contentment is set in a peaceful and private (clothing optional) spot with beautiful views – sailboats floating on a coral sea, with the British Virgin Islands off in the distance. The view sweeps from Coral Bay to the East End of St. John, on to Tortola and Virgin Gorda, then southeast through the British Virgin Islands to Norman Island. Coral Bay (the town) is St. John’s “other” community. It’s a colorful, laid back and friendly small town. Coral Bay (the harbor) is also St John’s largest harbor, and is usually full of cruising sailboats from throughout the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, along with the colorful Caribbean sailors who crew these boats. This nautical essence gives Coral Bay a romantic and out of the ordinary character that our guests seem to greatly enjoy.
The delightful National Park beaches at Salt Pond Bay and Lameshur Bay are a 10 minute drive, and it’s a very scenic 20-30 minute drive over Bordeaux Mountain into Cruz Bay, all on paved roads. For restaurants and bars in the Coral Bay area, Island Blues and Aqua Bisto Restaurants are below you, or drive 5-10 minutes to 5 other restaurants, gas and groceries.

DESIGN. Fun and Contentment was completed in 2008. The design of this house puts all the living areas, plus the pool, hot tub and decks on one level. You park on the same level and enter into the great room, which contains the kitchen, dining and living areas. On either side of the great room is an oversized bedroom which like the great room, opens to a deck. The large deck is tiled and wraps around the east and south sides of the house. At this elevation (360 feet), the views from all the rooms and especially the deck, are very impressive.

LIVING/DINING. The living room is furnished with comfortable furniture for four and is equipped with a 31 inch flat screen cable TV//DVD and a surround sound stereo/CD system with an i Pod dock. There is also a desk with a computer monitor, and an all in one printer, fax and scanner. Glass doors provide picturesque views from anywhere in the room and ceiling fans, the trade winds and the powerful bedroom a/c units keep the interior cool.

For dining you have a choice of two options. Inside a table in the round seats 4 in the dining area of the great room, while outside your dining table seats 6 and provides wonderful down island views. There’s a s/s 4-burner gas grill on the deck, a few steps from your dining table.

KITCHEN. The kitchen is both handsome and well-equipped with mahogany cabinets, tiled countertops and stainless steel appliances, including a four-burner electric cook top stove and oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. There is plenty of cookware and dinnerware, and a telephone. A washer and dryer are located below the kitchen.

BEDROOMS. The two large (300 sq/ft), air-conditioned master bedrooms are equally sized and are mirror images of each other. They both have handsome mahogany bedroom sets by Lane, including a 4-poster king bed, nightstands and a chest of drawers. Both have a flat screen TV/DVD, and a portable i Home stereo, which is a small clock radio that runs off house current or lithium batteries, and has an i Pod dock. Both tiled bedrooms have a tiled bath and shower, plus glass doors that open to the deck and to cooling trade winds and harbor views.

CARIBBEAN VILLAS' COMMENTS. Fun and Contentment is a most appropriate name for this nicely furnished 2-bedroom villa. For example, for fun you’ve got;

• An 8 person oversized hot tub that sits beside a 20 foot pool,
• Outside speakers that supply music for the pool, hot tub and outdoor dining/sunning areas,
• A stereo/CD with an I Pod dock that plays both inside and outside,
• In the great room, a 31 inch flat screen cable TV and DVD, complete with a surround sound home theater system,
• A flat screen TV and DVD, plus a Portable i Home clock radio in each bedroom,
• Wireless DSL throughout the house,
• i Pod connectivity throughout the house.

The contentment part of Fun and Contentment derives from a very comfortable and tastefully furnished, air conditioned home that is located in a private, peaceful and quiet location with lovely views.
The railings that surround the deck provide good safety for children and the two bedrooms under one roof are good for families. The bedroom décor, sound systems, hot tub and location also create a very romantic atmosphere, especially at night, which makes this home a great choice for honeymooners and couples.
