LOCATION. C’est Bleu enjoys a beautiful setting on one of the finest lots within the exclusive Virgin Grand Estates. It is located 600 feet above the Caribbean with wonderful views of Hart Bay, Chocolate Hole, Great Cruz Bay and many distant islands that float in a sea and sky of blue. A private, dead-end road leads to C’est Bleu and in this fashionable neighborhood of pricey homes, and this setting retains a peaceful quality. From early morning to sunset the sun sweeps across your horizon and provides you with an ever-changing panorama of color and beauty. This is definitely a sun lover’s location, but if you prefer, the spacious verandas, pool and totally air-conditioned house provide plenty of places for sun-free relaxation.

The south/southwest orientation also means gentle, cooling breezes and best of all, some of the best sunset views on the island. About a half-mile below you lay the restaurants, beach and fitness room of the Westin Resort, while the restaurants and shops of the fascinating village of Cruz Bay are a 10-minute drive, entirely on paved roads.

DESIGN. C'est Bleu is a spacious, lovely estate home that consists of three buildings plus a 2-car garage. The 3 buildings are connected by coral stone walkways that traverse beautifully maintained lawns and courtyards. You approach C'est Bleu through a gated entry into the garage and parking area, which are located above the house. A tiled stairway leads down to an open courtyard and the entry foyer of the 2-story Great House. The Great House contains the kitchen, living and dining rooms plus a powder room on the lower level, and two upper level bedrooms that are accessed by covered stairs. Screened French doors open from the Great House to a large, tiled veranda that is bordered by Doric columns, a 40-foot pool and a 4-person hot tub. Walkways lead through a landscaped courtyard to the semi secluded 2-level South House, with two more bedrooms with superb views. On the north side of the Great House, walkways lead through another garden courtyard to the Pool House, which holds the outdoor (2nd) kitchen on the lower level and the master bedroom on the upper level. A stunning patio lies out front, and is steps away from the chessboard gazebo.

LIVING/DINING. The best words to describe these rooms are lovely and elegant. With its massive beamed cathedral ceiling, working fireplace, French doors, comfortable furnishings, and central a/c, the great room has the feel of a Georgetown or Beacon Hill townhouse that has been relocated to a tropical island. A surround-sound entertainment system includes a satellite tv and vcr/dvd plus a stereo/cassette/cd player. The stereo system plus the acoustics of the room combine to provide some really excellent sound quality.

The formal dining room provides a lovely setting for 8-10 at the European pine table. On the tiled veranda just outside the dining room there are tables for 8 and the Pool House contains a third dining area at a colorful tiled table that seats 12.

KITCHEN. The primary kitchen is the ultimate in beauty and functionality. The ceiling is beamed, the floors are tiled, the cabinets and appliance fronts are all hand rubbed cherry and the countertops and island bar are granite. The cobalt blue, 6-burner gas stove is hooded with a double oven and grill. This kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave, wine rack and all the small appliances, dinnerware and cookware that you would expect in an high-end kitchen. A laundry room is located off the kitchen.

The Pool House kitchen, with its beamed and pickled cathedral ceiling, tiled floors and open exposure, is also a terrific spot to entertain and relax. This is a full outdoor kitchen with a Viking stainless steel rotisserie grill and range top, a large refrigerator/freezer, an icemaker and dishwasher. A granite peninsula bar separates the kitchen from the dining area. A stunning tiled patio adjoins the outdoor kitchen/dining area and is steps away from the oversized, tiled chessboard and gazebo.

BEDROOMS. Although each bedroom is individually decorated and appointed, four of the five bedrooms are similar in size and are furnished with queen beds. The master bedroom suite (above the Pool House), is larger and has a king bed and a large tumbled marble bathroom. All the bedrooms are air-conditioned and have superb views from inside or from private tiled balconies and patios. Because the five bedrooms are located in three separate buildings in an estate setting, all offer very good privacy. Each bedroom has an individual satellite TV and vcr, a telephone and a handsome tiled bath and shower.

CARIBBEAN VILLAS' COMMENTS. This beautiful tropical home, which blends both traditional and modern features, was completed in the spring of 2004 and was purchased by its present owners in 2005.
As the photos show, everything about this villa is attractive, but what the photos don’t capture are the many small touches and construction details that help give this home its refined character. Everything in this home is well thought out and skillfully executed, and the entire estate has a very lovely essence. From the private and exclusive location, to the grand estate design, to the well-appointed and beautiful interior, C’est Blue is a magnificent villa that deserves to be an Ultra Luxury Villa of St. John.
The photos also don’t capture C’est Bleu’s exceptional level of maintenance and upkeep. These owners are very demanding when it comes to maintaining the house and grounds. They also own and vacation aboard their 110 foot yacht, and nobody knows more about expensive upkeep and operating costs than yacht owners. The yacht and C’est Bleu are both maintained in what sailors call Bristol fashion, or what we in the real estate business refer to as truly excellent condition. C’est Bleu displays the same level of excellence, beauty and quality found in the finest Peter Bay homes, such as Mermaid Falls. If you are demanding and desire perfection in overall villa condition, C’est Bleu will not disappoint.
One of the centerpieces of C’est Bleu’s landscaping are the majestic 50 foot date palms that were imported from California. Along with the date palms, the entire grounds are beautifully and abundantly landscaped and maintained. This tropical landscaping, in combination with the design, gives C’est Bleu a sense of tropical elegance and privacy, yet the delights of Cruz Bay are a 10-15 minute drive on paved roads.
C’est Bleu was designed to accommodate 5 couples in near equal luxury and privacy, while also providing elegant interior and exterior common areas where everyone can be together. We highly recommend this 5 star villa for couples, small business meetings, and families with children.
