LOCATION. Carnival Beach House is situated on a pebble beach just 50 feet from the crystal clear waters of Klein Bay. Klein Bay is a small neighborhood of luxury homes located in the eastern corner of the larger bay known as Rendezvous Bay, on St. John’s Caribbean coast. This area retains much of the unique beauty, privacy, and peacefulness that are the essence of St. John. Ditliff Point is the peninsula that curves south into the Caribbean to form Klein Bay. The low hills of Ditliff soften the trade winds to ensure gentle breezes and tranquil waves. Ditliff Point itself remains undeveloped, so your view of the Point is beautiful and unspoiled, and you are free to enjoy the lush tropical landscape that adds to the island ambiance at Carnival Beach House. Although Cruz Bay is only a 10-minute drive on paved roads, very few tourists come to this lovely, pristine location.

DESIGN. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath guest cottage was newly built in 2006. The architect of Carnival Beach House is the acclaimed Glen Speer, who designed St. John’s popular Mongoose Junction and many other distinctive villas on the island. The result was this beautiful home, which blends traditional Caribbean stonework with modern comforts and amenities. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets, as well as the screen doors, were all made locally from Honduran mahogany. Mahogany trim abounds around the doors, floors, and ceiling, giving this modern-day home a classic feel. The island elegance continues in the exterior design, which includes terra cotta-tiled deck space and light fixtures made by St. John artist Donald Schnell. Carnival Beach House boasts a nouveau two-story design with 2 studio suites, and a pool deck on a half level between. Park in your private drive and enter on to the upper floor of the guest cottage. Guests staying in the top unit enter their suite from this landing, while those on the ground floor descend a set of exterior stairs to their private entrance.
The pool and tiled sundeck are located on a sizeable mid-level, just steps away from both suites. With 30’ x 20’ dimensions, the oversized pool at Carnival Beach House is sure to please. However, if you’re looking for a different sunning experience, venture just a few steps further to the pebble beach below!

LIVING/DINING. Each studio suite has its own full bath, dressing area, and large closet, as well as comfortable living space, and tiled deck. Amenities include air conditioning, cable/satellite TV, and WiFi internet access so you can keep in touch with envious friends and family from your luxurious beachfront guest cottage!


KITCHEN. Both suites have their own kitchenette, equipped with built-in hot plate, microwave oven, small refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and utensils. The guest cottage also has it’s own BBQ for grilling.

BEDROOMS. Each suite is equal in size and furnishings, both boasting queen-size beds and Caribbean-style decor. The upper level also has a beautiful beamed cathedral ceiling. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and full air conditioning for hot island nights, although gentle breezes blowing in off the beach are usually cool and inviting. Open the doors to your private balcony, and the hypnotic sound of waves breaking on the pebble beach below is sure to lull you to sleep.

CARIBBEAN VILLAS' COMMENTS. First and foremost, we love this guest cottage for it’s choice location. The unique beachfront setting is one of the best lots in the very upscale Klein Bay neighborhood. Like the owners of nearby Orchid and Oleander, the owner of Carnival Beach House was one of the first buyers at Klein Bay, and obtained one of, if not the most desirable lots in the area.

Carnival Beach House is small, yet elegant in its design. The traditional stonework is a tribute to island architecture and Caribbean culture, and is beautiful to behold. The blend of classic style modern comforts, such as satellite TV and WiFi internet access make this new home an instant favorite in terms of timeless luxury and contemporary convenience. The privacy and peacefulness of this location make it a wonderful home for honeymooners, lovers, or anyone seeking an oh-so romantic location for their Caribbean getaway. It is also ideal for 2 couples or a small family. The sounds of the pebble beach below Carnival Beach House truly speak for themselves, but let us assure you that you’re bound to have lovely days and incredible nights at this unique guest cottage.

The Guest Cottage of Carnival Beach House is rented separately from the Main House. The caretakers of Carnival Beach House live in the main house and are friendly St. Johnians who are available for advice for restaurants, beaches, hiking trails, island folk lore etc., or if you chose, you can be left alone to enjoy your privacy.

Internet Service: The internet service is subject to frequent interruption. We cannot guarantee internet quality or speed. Renters might find it convenient to travel with a cellular carrier MiFi – a couple of examples are AT&T and Virgin Mobile. There will be no refunds due to the internet not working.

Pool Floats: Pool floats are not guaranteed with your villa rental. If you want access to them, please bring them with you.
