LOCATION.
The Pink House is located about 20 steps from the sparkling waters and
snow white sands of White Bay, on the small island of Jost Van Dyke in
the British Virgin Islands. Although Jost lies only five miles north of
St. John, and three miles northwest of Tortola, it is a world apart
from its neighboring islands. White Bay, named for the color of the
sand, is one of the most unique and beautiful beachfront locations that
we offer in the US and British Virgin Islands. In fact, Conde Nast (the
travel magazine) was so impressed with White Bay that they named it
"one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world". The
absolutely gorgeous views from your villa stretch from St. John in the
southeast, past the islands of St. Thomas and Hans Lollick in the
south, and on to Tobago Island in the west. The sunset views behind
distant islands are quite spectacular, and combined with a few Soggy
Dollar painkillers, the romantic sunsets just might become a life
defining event. The distant lights of St. Thomas, warm breezes and
gentle surf also create a very lovely evening setting.
There are no hotels on Jost and there are very few choices for
overnight lodging, with the Pink House being one of the best choices.
Most of the people who you'll meet in the cozy bars and restaurants are
friendly, sociable boat people who are anchored for the night in Great
Harbor or Little Harbor, the other two harbors on Jost. Don't be
surprised if you rub elbows with some of the celebrities who seem to
favor Jost, or make friends with some like minded islanders, for this
is a small friendly place, and you're a local (for at least a week)
The gracious population of less than 200 islanders allows Jost to
maintain a very laid back, beach bar and acoustic guitar, wonderful
Caribbean island atmosphere. All the British and US Virgin islands are
different, and each has its own appeal, but none are quite as unique
and untouched by time as Jost Van Dyke. |

DESIGN.
This villa has one exceptional design feature - it's 20 steps from one
of the world's most beautiful beaches. The house itself is a two level
design with all of the interior living areas except one bedroom on the
upper level. There is a 450 sq/ft sun deck on the lower level and a 500
sq/ft covered deck on the upper level, both with deck furniture, or you
can take a chair or recliner down to the huge sandy deck at the beach
and let the 80 degree water cool and caress you. The views from both
decks are so outstanding, mesmerizing even, that much of your time at
this house is likely to be spent outdoors. But when you step inside
you'll find tiled floors, bright Caribbean colors, and screened doors
that open either to fabulous views and comfortable accommodations. |

BEDROOMS.
The two upper level bedrooms are similar in style, size and
furnishings, each with a queen bed, closet and tiled bath and shower.
The lower bedroom has a double bed plus 1/2 bath. |

KITCHEN. Located
just off the living area, the chef also has a water view and is not far
from the party. The kitchen includes a four burner gas stove and oven,
refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker,
countertop bar with 4 bar stools, and a selection of pots, pans, and
kitchenware. A separate laundry room with washer/dryer is on the lower
level and a barbeque is on the deck. |

Dining on the upper deck
LIVING/DINING ROOMS.
The living and dining areas are casually styled in accordance with
traditional beach house design. Entertainment is provided by a color
TV, VCR/DVD, stereo/CD with speakers inside and on the upper deck. The
most pleasant sound in this villa however, is the very gentle sound of
the surf that sometimes whispers outside your windows and doors.
For those times that you don't eat at one of the islands memorable
restaurants, the Pink House has three dining areas inside, on the upper
deck or on the lower deck. |

This is your "road less traveled," and it does make all the difference, for it leads
to
Ivan's, the Soggy Dollar Bar, and the other colorful and unique beach bars of White Bay.

CARIBBEAN VILLA'S VIEW .
We were very pleased to add The Pink House to our portfolio in April of
2007. Everyone at Caribbean Villas has spent memorable days on Jost,
and we all love this unique and colorful island and its absolutely
gorgeous beach at White Bay.
The Pink
House is a very rare find in the Virgin Islands - a villa located 20
steps from white sands, crystal clear waters and coconut palms on a
world class beach (the very elegant Peter Bay Beach House
on St. John also meets the criteria of a true beach house. It offers a
bit more style, for just a tad more money.) This is the only villa that
we offer on Jost Van Dyke, and although we would dearly love to have
more villas like this, there just aren't any to be found. The
term unique really does apply to Jost Van Dyke and to The Pink House.
The hotel, condo and villa development that has taken place in the last
15 years on St. John, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Virgin Gorda has left
Jost Van Dyke largely untouched. Jost lives in a bit of a time warp -
and that's a good thing. This island retains much of the Caribbean
lifestyle of years past; it's slow, friendly, very mellow, laidback and
relaxing. This is definitely not life in the fast lane, but if
snorkeling, swimming, lying on a beautiful beach, beach walks, tikki
bars, beach restaurants and dancing in the sand under a starry sky is
your cup of tea, then this might be your island.
If you're one the fortunate few that has been to Jost, then you may
have visited White Bay, home of Ivan's, the Soggy Dollar Bar and the
beautiful beaches that you see here (they're much more beautiful when
you've actually got your feet in the sand.) If you haven't been to Jost
but are interested in renting the Pink House, you've probably got a lot
of questions about the island. Fortunately, Kathy in our rental office
has vacationed on Jost for the past 5 years and has an excellent
knowledge of the island, its bars, restaurants, people, beaches and
delights. If you're a bit of an adventurer who likes to wander a little
bit off the beaten path, call our office at 800-338-0987 and speak with Kathy. |
