LOCATION. Orionís Hill enjoys a very quiet and peaceful location on the ridgeline of Ajax Mountain (Coral Bay - Northern Hill). Although Orionís Hill is only about 90 feet above its neighbor, in this case 90 feet makes quite a difference. Not only does Orionís Hill enjoy the beautiful view that sweeps from the British Virgin Islands over Coral Bay to Bordeaux Mountain, but because itís on the mountain ridge it also has a spectacular view to the south, west and northwest. These views overlook the fabled north shore of St. John and sweep from St. Thomas in the southwest, past Lovango and on to Jost Van Dyck in the north. This is almost a 360 degree view and it is quite spectacular, especially when viewed from the widows walk.
All except the first mile of the drive into Cruz Bay (15-20 minutes) is on paved roads. The National park beaches on the north shore are 5-8 minutes and the restaurants and groceries in Coral Bay are a 5-10 minute drive.

DESIGN. This is a handsome and spacious villa with 2400 sq/ft of interior and 4400 total sq/ft, including decks. You climb the beautiful mongoose stairs and enter into the upper level, which contains the master bedroom, bath and a half, kitchen, and dining and living rooms. Interior stairs lead to the lower level with a 2nd master bedroom, bath and a half, a 2nd living room, and outside, the pool and sun deck. Another interior stairway leads to the stunning views on the widows walk on the roof deck. A deck with superb views wraps around all four sides of the upper level and 3 sides of the lower level.

BEDROOMS. The attractively furnished and nearly identical bedrooms both have queen beds, a/c, ceiling fans, and a tiled bath and shower. Both bedrooms open to decks and have views to the southeast (Coral Bay), with the upper bedroom enjoying a better view.

LIVING/DINING/KITCHEN. The tiled and granite kitchen is fully equipped, including a 4-burner electric stove and oven, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster, coffeemaker, cookware, etc. There is also a washer/dryer. A Webber grill is on the pool deck and you may dine either inside at the table for 6, or on the pool deck at a table for four.

The two living rooms are both fully air-conditioned and similar in size. The upper level has beamed cathedral ceilings, a cable TV and DVD, and a stereo with a 5 disc CD player, while the lower living room has a cable TV and VCR and high speed internet access. Both have queen sofa beds.

CARRIBBEAN VILLAS' COMMENTS. Construction of Orionís Hill was completed and this very handsome new home began renting in March of 2006.
Orionís Hill is the next to last villa on the gated road that works its way up Ajax Peak, and like its neighbor below, (Aria), it enjoys a very quiet, peaceful and natural setting that provides striking views of mountains and sea. Orionís Hill is also a member of that very privileged group of villas (including Dolphin Run, and Le Lapin) that enjoy both brilliant Caribbean sunrises and blazing sunsets.
The view to the east is striking, but what sets Orionís Hill apart from its neighbors is the spectacular view of the north shore of St. John and the view of St Thomas and other islands floating on the distant western horizon. The widows walk is a unique feature that you will enjoy, and the upper level deck also has the wonderful southwest views.
Great care was taken to preserve a feeling of serenity and peacefulness in this mountainside hideaway, and with its pool, large sun deck and some tan everywhere privacy, this is an excellent choice as a romantic retreat for honeymooners and lovers of all ages.
With 2 living rooms, each with a sofa bed, full a/c, relatively child friendly layout, and proximity to National Park beaches, this is also an excellent choice for families. If you love St. John for its fabulous views but also want comfortable and modern accommodations, then this villa will impress you.
