A private drive leads to Marbella so there is very little road noise in this peaceful setting. The sun arcs across the Caribbean Sea all day long and provides you with an ever-changing panorama of color. This is definitely a sun lover's villa, although the pool, the trade winds and the fully air conditioned house provide refreshing relief, if you need it. About a quarter-mile walk below you are the restaurants, beach and fitness room of the Westin Resort, while the renowned restaurants and shops of the delightful village of Cruz Bay are a 10-minute drive, entirely on paved roads.
Design. Like its villa cousins, Las Brisas Caribe and Vista Caribe, Marbella was designed to be, and certainly is, a high-end, very comfortable and beautiful St. John rental home. Unlike its cousins, Marbella is a one level design with an interior that is all under one continuous roof. In keeping with the architectural themes of its cousins, Marbella incorporates features such as beamed cathedral ceilings, tiled floors throughout, tiled roofs, Doric columns, and mahogany French doors that open to a white coral deck that runs the entire length of the villa. You enter Marbella through a set of mahogany French doors that open to the spacious great room. The kitchen and interior dining areas adjoin the great room and share the same splendid views. A hallway on the right side of the great room leads to the guest bedroom (two twins or a king bed), and the west master bedroom (king bed) is at the end of the hallway. The other master bedroom (king bed) is on the opposite end of the villa, off the great room.
Kitchen/Dining/Living Room. With its black polished granite countertops, mahogany cabinets, stainless steel appliances, a tiled floor and a beamed cathedral ceiling, this is a very handsome kitchen. It's also well equipped, with a 4-burner gas stove with ventilator hood, standard and convection SS ovens plus a microwave oven, a SS refrigerator/freezer, SS microwave, SS dishwasher, a mahogany wine rack and lots more - this is definitely a highly functional and beautiful kitchen. A mahogany and granite half bath is off the kitchen, as is the large laundry room with washer and dryer. Even the laundry room has gorgeous mahogany cabinets in this first-rate home. The formal, interior dining room seats 6 at a glass topped antique metal table with rattan chairs. For those gorgeous nights when you choose to dine outside, a cast iron table on the trellis deck off the dining room also seats 6. With its large French doors, a towering cathedral ceiling, comfortable tropical furnishings and marvelous views, the spacious living room is an example of subtle Caribbean elegance. A satellite TV/VCR, and a stereo/CD/cassette provide the entertainment.
Bedrooms. The elegant and romantic west master bedroom has a 4-poster king mahogany bed under a cathedral ceiling, a large walk-in closet and a large tiled bath with a spa tub with jets. The guest bedroom has two twin beds that convert to a king bed, while the east master bedroom has a king mahogany sleigh bed under a cathedral ceiling. All bedrooms are air-conditioned with handsome tiled baths, and all have a flat screen satellite TV/DVD and a stereo with a 5 disc CD player. The bedrooms have screened windows and mahogany French doors that open to the deck and gorgeous views. Although we refer to one of the bedrooms as a guest bedroom, all the bedrooms are similar in size and furnishings and Marbella would accommodate 3 couples in comfort.
Caribbean Villa's View. Marbella was completed in late 2004 and began renting in 2005. This is the third home to be built by the talented development team that also built Las Brisas Caribe and Vista Caribe. Many of the comments that we made for these two elegant villas also apply to Marbella, for the same commitment to excellence in design, construction and furnishings is found in all three homes. Much like its villa cousins, Marbella represents a tasteful blending of classic Caribbean architecture with the comforts of a luxurious, modern home. There's a lot to like about this villa, including central air conditioning, a sun lover's pool, the Mediterranean inspired Doric columns and coral tiles, the truly gourmet kitchen, satellite TV/DVD throughout, and majestic views from all rooms. This house has a very nice and relaxing essence; the location, the furnishings, the colors and the one level design all contribute to a very pleasant overall feeling. With its thoughtful floor plan, this is a great choice for couples, or for families with children. Marbella is elegant and romantic throughout, and with its sunset location this is also a great home for lovers or honeymooners. If you desire a larger villa with the same views, C'est Blue is a stunning 5-bedroom villa located just above Marbella. The eye-catching 4-bedroom villa Las Brisas Caribe is a larger and distinctly different, but also similar, version of Marbella that is located on Maria Bluff. If Marbella is unavailable and you desire a similar home located in the Virgin Grande Estates, take a look at Vista Caribe.
