#1 Tortola - Steele Point. Steele Point is a most unique and exceptional peninsula that juts out from the West End of Tortola. This picturesque finger of land forms the northern boundary of Soper's Hole, a scenic Caribbean harbor that is usually filled with world-class cruising sailboats and mega yachts. If you're going to Tortola on a St John or St Thomas ferry, Soper's Hole is where you arrive and clear BVI customs. The two villas on Steele Point are both located about 90 feet above the water with stunning ocean and island views that primarily look to the south and west. It's a short drive to the restaurants, shops and bars at Soper's Hole Marina, located at the head of the harbor. Pusser's has a great dockside restaurant and bar that provides entertainment on some nights, and Soper's Hole also offers other restaurants, shops and attractions that are well worth a visit. The beaches at Smuggler's Cove and Long bay are a 5 -10 minute drive and Road Town is 20 – 25 minutes.
#2 Tortola - Belmont Estates. Belmont Estates is an exclusive residential area on the west end of Tortola. Belmont begins just west of Long Bay Beach at Belmont Point and ends at the unique peninsula called Steele Point. Belmont Estates is itself a peninsula with one side overlooking Soper's Hole and the other side looking north toward Jost Van Dyke. This neighborhood has established itself as one of Tortola's most private, quiet and select residential areas. If you arrive on the ferry, one look up at the impressive villas overlooking Soper's Hole will confirm the character of this neighborhood. The villas that we offer in Belmont look to the west and north and offer lovely views of Smugglers Cove, Long Bay, Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Cay, Green Cay and the Tobagos. It's a short walk or drive to snorkeling and swimming at the white sand beaches at Smuggler's Cove and Long Bay, while the ferry dock, restaurants and shops of Soper's are also a 5-10 minute drive.
#3 Tortola - Havers Hill. Havers Hill is on the south facing side of Tortola, not far from the cozy harbor, marina and restaurants of Nanny Cay. The southern orientation of all Haver's Hill homes provides all day sun and superb views of the necklace of smaller islands that form the southern boundary of the Sir Francis Drake Channel (St John, Norman, Peter, Salt, Dead Chest, Cooper, Ginger, Virgin Gorda and many others). The closest beaches are Cane Garden Bay, Smuggler's Cove and Long Bay (all 10 – 15 minutes), and the supermarket in Road Town is 15 – 20 minutes. The nearby marina at Nanny Cay and Soper's Hole (5-10 minutes) have restaurants and other attractions, as does Long Bay.
#4 Tortola - Chalwell (NW). This is a serene and very private location on the mountain ridge overlooking Cane Garden Bay. Chalwell is about midpoint between the east and west ends of Tortola, so its only about a 10 minute drive over the mountains to the supermarkets, restaurants and shopping in Road Town. Chalwell is close to the lovely Brewers Bay (about a mile) and also only a 5-minute drive to the great beach at Cane Garden Bay. The magnificent views from Chalwell curve down the north and west coast of Tortola and include the islands of St Thomas, Hans Lollick, the Tobagos, Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Cay and Green Cay.
#5 Tortola - Cane Garden Bay. This much photographed, palm tree lined, white sand beach is one of Tortola's most beautiful beaches and is reputed to be the place Jimmy Buffet wrote of in "Cheeseburger in Paradise" (The lights of St Thomas are 20 miles away). Although this is a popular anchorage for sailboats and an excellent beach for swimming and limin, the beach is quite large and is rarely crowded. Cane Garden offers boat rentals and water sports, as well as Tortola's best selection of beachside restaurants, bars and low-key nightlife. For barefoot dining under the palms, beautiful sunsets, gentle surf (usually), and a tranquil sense of away from it all peacefulness, this is an ideal beach.
#6 Tortola - Luck Hill. Cane Garden Bay is a beautiful and calm harbor that is surrounded by tall hills and green mountains. The steep hill that forms the eastern side of the U-shaped harbor of Cane Garden Bay is called Luck Hill. This is a tranquil and private neighborhood with truly spectacular south and west facing views that sweep from the white sandy beach below you down the north shore of Tortola to the islands of St. John, St Thomas, Hans Lollick, the Tobagos, Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Cay, Green Cay and many others. It's a 5-minute drive to the great beaches at either Cane Garden Bay or Brewers Bay and the shortest route into Road Town (over the mountain) takes about 10 minutes.
#7 Tortola - Green Bank. This is a another quiet and peaceful neighborhood on the northwest side of Tortola in the mountains overlooking lovely Brewers Bay and Cane Garden Bay. The magnificent ocean views include the bays along the west half of Tortola and the islands of Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Cay, Green Cay and St Thomas. Mount Healthy National Park is just above Brewers Bay and features the remains of an 18th century sugar plantation. The beautiful beach at Brewers is a 5-minute drive and Cane Garden Bay's beach, restaurants and nightlife are also a 5-10 minute drive. Groceries at Road Town are a 10 – 15 drive over the rugged but very scenic mountain range that separates the north and south shores of Tortola.
#8 Tortola - Little Lambert. Like the majority of our rental home locations, Little Lambert Bay is located on the north shore of Tortola. The quiet north side of the island definitely has the most spectacular beaches, and one of the most beautiful is the picture postcard perfect beach at Little Lambert. Both Lambert and Little Lambert offer fine swimming and snorkeling, although we think that swimming at Little Lambert is a slice of heaven There is a small resort and restaurant located at Lambert Bay Beach (about a 3 minute drive), while the restaurants and supermarkets in Road Town are a 15 – 20 minute drive. The beautiful views from Magic Castle look north and east across the bay to Guana Channel and Guana and Great Camanoe Islands. The gorgeous beach (and beach bar) at Little Lambert is a 2 - 3 minute drive or a short walk
#9 Tortola - Well Bay. Well Bay is on the far eastern end of Tortola. This very private and unique setting includes a private beach and excellent swimming and snorkeling. The beautiful views from Well Bay look south towards the necklace of tropical islands that forms the outer edge of the Sir Francis Drake Channel. The gently breaking surf at Well Bay also provides restful and wonderful natural music. Well Bay and Beef Island are linked to Tortola by a small bridge. Although the airport is located on Beef Island, Well Bay is located on the south side of the island, removed from the noise and activity of the airport. Delightful Trellis Bay (less than a 5 minute drive) is the gateway to the must visit Pusser's at Marina Cay and the unusual and always entertaining Last Resort is also in Trellis Bay. There are some very good restaurants on Beef Island and Road Town is a 15 - 20 minute drive There are also small grocery stores on the east end.
