Cruz Views is St John's favorite small resort, offering just ten very attractive and comfortable 1 and 2 bedroom, 1 bath condominiums that are tucked into a tropical hillside 160 feet above the town of Cruz Bay. The units all face southwest to capture picturesque views of turquoise and blue seas by day, memorable sunsets at twilight and the twinkling lights of distant islands at night. It's an easy walk into Cruz Bay (downhill) but the walk back to Cruz Views is a bit more challenging, especially if you have enjoyed a few of the island's infamous rum punches.

GROUNDS. The 10 condominiums are located in 3 buildings which surround a large pool and sundeck. Units 1 - 4 are above the pool while units 5 - 10 are below the pool, but all share the beautiful views. The grounds are lushly landscaped with many varieties of colorful tropical plants and flowers, including areca and coconut palms, bougainvillea, croutons, and frangi pangi. On site parking for your jeep is provided as well as a gas BBQ for outdoor grilling.

THE CONDOS. Cruz Views was built in 1986 by the same design and development team that built the popular villas that we offer on Gifft Hill (Palm, Coconuts and Seawatch). Although Cruz Views units are smaller, they share many design features with their more luxurious Gifft Hill cousins, such as tiled floors, cathedral ceilings, tiled baths with garden showers and private decks. All the condominiums have fully equipped kitchens, living and dining areas with Ficks Reed furniture, a private bedroom with a queen bed and a private deck with Brown Jordan deck furniture and lovely views. Units 1,3,4 5, and 10 have a second bedroom (2 twins) which is a loft bedroom with a ships ladder access that kids will love. Unit 1 has a slightly larger floorplan with a spiral staircase leading to the second bedroom. All units are fully screened with many opening doors and windows to allow the tradewinds to circulate. Units 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9 have a/c in the bedrooms and units 7 and 10 have a/c in the hallway that cools the entire unit. Cruz Views #7 and Cruz Views #10 are Platinum units. They are the best that Cruz Views offers and they cost more than a standard unit.

Cruz Views Platinum. Like all condominiums on St John, not all units are created equal. Cruz Views # 7 and Cruz Views # 10 have been extensively remodeled, refurbished and improved. These two condos are the Platinum units at Cruz Views. There are other very attractive units, but these two condos are a step above the rest, and as you would expect, you’ll also pay a bit more for a platinum condo.

Cruz Views # 10 is a 2-bedroom corner unit. An oversized wraparound deck makes this one of the most private and romantic of the Cruz Views condos. In 2004 this unit was totally remodeled, including new kitchen cabinets and appliances, all new furniture, and an all new bathroom. Cruz Views # 10 has always been a popular unit, but now it’s more elegant and appealing than when it was new, and it well deserves to be labeled a platinum condo. Of all the Cruz Views units, this one is the most popular with honeymooners and lovers.

The a/c loft bedroom has a ship’s ladder access (see photo 11) and 2 twin beds that convert to a king bed, plus a small cable TV with VCR.

Cruz Views # 7 is a 1-bedroom, oversized corner unit with central air conditioning. This is also a romantic and semi private condo and one of our top recommendations for honeymooners and lovers. This unit was completely remodeled in 2005, including new faux Travertine marble floors, new mahogany kitchen cabinets and new appliances, all new furniture, a fresh coat of paint in all rooms, and an all new bathroom. From the walls in, this condo has been totally redone, and it is now much more elegant and inviting than its earlier edition, and it too deserves to be labeled a platinum unit.
