Location. Catalina sits high in the hills above Chocolate Hole on the west side of St. John. The south facing orientation provides dazzling views that include St. Croix, Rendezvous Bay, Hart Bay and Chocolate Hole Harbor. This is a peaceful and quiet setting that provides abundant privacy for clothing optional sun bathing. Although you are up in the hills in a serene and seemingly removed setting, Cruz Bay is an easy 7-10 minute drive on mostly paved roads, and the sandy beach, beach bar, fine restaurants and fitness room at the Westin Resort is a 5-minute drive.

Design. This new home was completed in August of 2002. Catalina was designed specifically for vacation rentals and its child friendly layout and comfortable yet graceful décor fit this purpose quite well. The 2-level design places the pool and surrounding sundeck, two master bedroom/baths, the living, dining and kitchen areas on the upper level. An exterior stairway leads to the bedroom/bath on the lower level. There are decks on the south and west sides of the villa, and the pool deck area is surrounded by a stone wall that is ringed by lush vegetation that insures abundant privacy.

Bedrooms. The 2 master bedrooms, both with mahogany king beds, A/C and an exotic interior decor, are located on opposite ends of the villa to insure maximum privacy. The third bedroom (twin beds) is equally sized and accessed via an exterior stairway. All bedrooms open through screened sliding glass doors to marvelous views. All bedrooms have private tiled baths and delicate accents that help create a romantic atmosphere.

Living/Dining/Kitchen. Vaulted ceilings, tiled floors, wicker and mahogany furniture, sliding glass doors and tropical accessories give the living areas a comfortable Caribbean feel. Cable color TV/VCR and a stereo/CD are provided. The interior dining table seats 6 and there is also dining on the pool deck. The kitchen is clean, modern and well equipped for light snacks or gourmet dining. A gas barbecue grill is on the deck and a washer/dryer, beach chairs and telephones are provided.

Caribbean Villas' View. With its expansive and beautiful views, and tranquil yet convenient location, Chocolate Hole has always been a pleasing setting for rental villas. Catalina is the latest addition to Chocolate Hole (as of August, 2002), and it is sure to enhance this area's favorable reputation. Catalina was designed to be an attractive and desirable rental home, and with its lovely interior decor, southern orientation, grand views, tranquil and undisturbed location, abundant privacy and tan everywhere sunbathing, we think that it definitely meets its design objectives. This comfortable home should be very popular with kids, families and couples, and the romantic master bedrooms and location makes this an appealing villa for lovers and honeymooners.
