LOCATION AND DESIGN. Amora is located just below the top of the hill on the south side of Cruz Bay Harbor, offering expansive water views to the south and the west, and sunset views and views of the twinkling lights of St Thomas and other islands at night. The big appeal of this quiet residential location is that Amora retains a sense of peace and privacy, yet this in-town location is an easy 5 minute walk to the restaurants, boutiques, tennis courts and nightlife of Cruz Bay, and a 5 minute drive from the beaches of the National Park. Amora is built of handsome native stone and concrete. You enter into the living/dining/kitchen area and the 2 upper level bedrooms are located on on either side of the living area. A covered tiled porch deck with beautiful views runs the entire length of the villa and 6 stairs lead down to a 43 foot sundeck and a 20 x 12 foot pool. BEDROOMS. The two upper level tiled master bedrooms have king beds and similar appointments, including beamed ceilings, closets, a chest of drawers, end tables and lamps and screened sliding glass doors that open to the covered porch deck. Both bedrooms are cooled by top of the line Trane A/C and all have an attached tiled bath and shower. LIVING/DINING/KITCHEN. The tiled living room has an exposed beam cathedral ceiling with ceiling fans and seats 6 on upholstered wicker furniture. The living room includes Caribbean artwork, cable color TV/VCR. The interior dining room seats 4 at a wicker and glass table or you may dine on the deck. Screened sliding glass doors lead from the living area to the porch deck.
The kitchen is equipped with a 4 burner stove and oven, refrig/freezer, microwave, coffeemaker, blender, toaster and abundant cookware and dinnerware. CARIBBEAN VILLAS VIEW. Amora was completed in 1999, and enjoys the best of both worlds; it's close to town, yet it's situated on a low traffic street on the quiet side of the hill overlooking Cruz Bay, so it doesn't get the traffic and noise from town. With it's pool and sundeck, a/c bedrooms, sunset views and comfortable furnishings, this would be an attractive and appealing rental villa in any location on St John. For people who want a spacious, affordable and private villa on St John but don't want to drive (on the left) or to rent a jeep, or for parents with teenagers who want to be able to easily walk into the safe and friendly yet always interesting West Indian village of Cruz Bay, you now have three excellent villas (and many condos) from which to choose. The child protective railings on the pool and porch deck also make this a good choice for families with young children.
